This would make a great multiplayer map for the next Call of Duty. Love me some ruined/half destroyed highrises.

Andy Burnham has won a landslide victory in the Greater Manchester mayoral election. Labour managed to poll 63% of votes out of a total turnout of nearly 30%.

All 10 boroughs of the city voted Labour, bucking a national slip towards support for the Conservative party. Even majority Conservative areas in Manchester voted for Burnham yesterday.

The highest turnout was seen in Trafford (38%), Bury (32%) and Stockport (32%). The lowest turnout was seen in Salford (25%).

In the City of Manchester, Burnham won 73% of votes, and in Andy's constituent borough of Wigan he won 74%.

A breakdown of the voting scores is given below:
  • LAB - Andy Burnham - 359,352 - 63.4%
  • CON - Sean Anstee - 128,752 - 22.7%
  • LIBERAL - Jane Brophy - 34,334 - 6.1%
  • GREEN - Will Patterson - 13,424 - 2.4%
  • ENGLISH DEMOCRATS - Stephen Morris - 11,115 - 2.0%
  • UKIP - Shneur Odze - 10,583 - 1.9%
  • Independent - Mohammad Aslam 5,815 - 1.0%
  • Independent - Marcus Farmer - 3,360 0.6%

A larger perspective of the new render, taking in the whole of Whitworth Street. Plus model. The location of marketing suite. And the views of the surrounding buildings.

Such a shame the terracotta was changed to brick. But it's still an impressive development and compliments the surrounding Victorian buildings.

And to think, 3 towers are currently under construction close to Beetham Tower.

Manchester's skyline really is starting to evolve.
