Rushed the 3rd picture from the MEN Arena car park as security were all over the Arena due to Disney On Ice Show. Which is understandable.

Great job JRB, amazing pics!

The city is changing at such a rapid pace, only ever seen in this country at modern times, on such a level in London I assume. Wow, woooow, WOW!

Clipper's Quay is really taking shape now, I'm surprised with Middlewood Locks though. It's such a huge scheme but looks so small next to Wilburn Basin. Probably over the height and the smaller plot with Wilburn towards the extend of land that Middlewood Locks is spread over. I do think those front blocks on Middlewood should have been above the 50m mark however.

Last of my picture's from last Week.

Either from the top of the First Street Car park, or from Beetham Tower.

Maybe the odd slight duplicate, but tried to sort through them.

5 set's per post, as not to spam them.

Crane City! On a UK scale.

Manchester's goal to be a top 20 global city by 2035

Quote:
Greater Manchester has the biggest population outside London. Not only that but the list goes on... (Outside the capital) Manchester is the most visited city in England, has the busiest airport in the country and welcomes more students at Manchester University than anywhere else in U.K. Home to the most expensive Grade A office space per square foot, headquarters to global company's. Currently experiencing a unprecedented economical and construction boom with over 60,000 apartments under construction, recently completed or proposed. Skyscrapers popping up across the city, world renowned football clubs and a metrolink that will soon extend over 100km.

Last year KPMG named Manchester as the most competitive business location in Europe. However, Manchester council's chief executive says we need to keep working forward towards a long-term vision of becoming a top 20 global city by 2035.

According to Global Economic System Manchester was ranked as a "Beta - World City" along with Rio de Janeiro, Seattle & Kuwait. In order to reach the top #20 that would entail pushing ahead of cities such as Washington, Barcelona and Bangkok. The top 20 list includes London, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid etc...

See the 2016 list here: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/gawc/world2016t.html

Found these.

Manchester's skyline is slowly but surely changing for the better.

May. So the Owen Street towers aren't visible yet. They will be just to the right of Bertham tower. See 2nd picture.

End of September. What a difference a few months makes. So many cranes.

I love seeing Manchester's boom. I really think the skyline will be quite harmonious.

Speaking of which, here's a mock-up I did of Manchester's future skyline

The tallest ones are already under construction
