From today (April 1) Manchester has a devolved National Health Service budget, which the City can allocate funds and healthcare where it is most needed

Manchester is the only city in the UK to have a devolved healthcare budget (of £6bn annually), and this marks the start of a raft of devolution deals to Greater Manchester, culminating in the Mayoral elections in April 2017

WTF

Why is a car park taking up precious land for development. I understand the need for car parking , but put it below ground instead. Giving over land to solely to a car park , runs counterintuitive to the nature of cites.

You seem shocked, have you not seen a car park above the ground before?

Agreed - the developments look great but the car park is shocking - a huge impermeable wall.

Not entirely convinced by the Owen street towers either, they seem clunky and unrefined for what will be such a huge building in Manchester I would have hoped for something more refined and tapered.

On-site this year from what we know. The tallest and smallest towers are being built at the same time. The tallest will be halfway up when the smallest is finished. The other 2 towers will only be built if demand is there, or if they can sell them on.(guessing)

Renaker are a solely based Manchester property developer and currently have 5 towers going up in and around the city centre. They also own undeveloped plots of land in and around the city centre.

Cambridge Street x2
Wilburn Street
Water Street
No1 Greengate.

They have their own construction company. They build mainly Private rental towers(PRS) and sell them on either off plan or during construction. In theory the money is already in the Bank so they can move onto their next tower. They are now going into private sales.

It's a very well thought out and slick operation. They maximize profits, keep building costs down, take their workforce with them, and are in full control of their proposals.

This is an example of what's in their pipeline.

If the economy holds out and the demand is still there, there are plenty more towers to come.
