MIAMI | CCCC Miami | 326m | 1069ft | 80 fl | Pro

A Chinese developer bought the site of Capital at Brickell where they intend to build "Miami's tallest tower". In the process they have renamed the development CCCC Miami, new designs for the two tower (potentially supertall twins) project are forthcoming...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Capital At Brickell:

This prime site, approved for as much as 3.2 million sq. ft. of development, sold last year. The previous two tower Capital at Brickell project fell victim to the 2008 market crash, and later a series of lawsuits. The new developer intends to construct a single supertall as opposed to the original twins. However that goes (the FAA can be prickly) nothing short of a skyscraper is expected here.

As of March 2011 it's still completely dead. The site looks disgusting from the Metromover after a rain. There's still a lot of construction in Miami, it's just all in 5-20 story buildings scattered all over the place.

Like this building you probably didn't even know about way off the beaten path on the west side of Miami beyond Little Havana.

Yeah I know is there a place to talk about general developments in the area, and not just downtown developments (ie not "Miami-Downtown and CBD III)

Basically, it was the most interesting designs for Miami that didn't get built. Or maybe spires are just illegal in Miami.

Is Miami's construction boom starting up again? Or has it leveled-off? .

It never leveled off. It completely died in 2008 and has not started up again. The pictures I am posting now show how the sites are still dead.
