It seems to me that Panama is the Dubai of Latin America. I just don't like the width of this building nor do I like many of the designs...a lot of them just look alike. but still Panama is going up

I kinda agree. Similar to dubai, they have a lot of good designs, and a lot of bad designs.

When you have a certain defined building lot, with no more space adjacent for sale and you want to maximize your sq. footage, the building conforms to the space it is built in. Sometimes its wide, sometimes its not. Its not as easy as you think designing a building.

When you are pretending to draw buildings on the Etch-a-Sketch that you parents gave you for Christmas, its alot easier, isn't it?

yes you re right, they are building many many high buildings for latin american standards, but the designs are poor, I guess iits because most of this buildings are gonna be residential towers, because the office towers are not so high but their design is really good.

This building should really be put in the highrise category, as the supertall part isn't u/c.

There already is a thread in the skyscrapers section. It's not a highrise. Besides that, it's part of the Megapolis project and the supertall part will go up soon. It happens once in a while that the lower part of a project is constructed first.

So they are working on the supertall? I'd read rumors that one was possibly cancelled or at best on hold. That's good news.
