Your megapixel pano is splendid, gerald.d!

Hope you don't mind that I've taken some screenshots of it and fixed them together...
I think it's worth to post it, despite the reduction of size and quality on tinypic:

I luv skyscrapers! and thrilled with some of the hi rise designs in Dubai....

but just curious...are there enough higher income people in ALL of Dubai to occupy these massive buildings? or are they mainly meant for regional or farther afield foreign tourists to buy or rent? or? .....

[[I just read that there are about 2.2 million people in all of Dubai (including lower income guest workers)...thats much less than half of Singapore....]]

is an apartment tower 100% private residential? or can it also have hotel rooms (and retail etc.) as part of the tower? just wondering on the definition....

^has to be 90% residential.
so a 90storey resi tower can have 9 floors of other use if wanted, still an all resi tower.
the Eureka tower actually sits on a 10storey car park and top 3 floors are observation use, thus out of 91 floors, 78floors are resi use which is 85%, but carpark is allowed in use as residntial.
Q1 has 78 floors of which 76 are residential, thus 97.4% =resi
im pretty sure most of the dubai marina towers are all residential useage?

i think even serviced apartments are counted as residential because they are equipped with kitchens.they can be easily sold off as resi in future.
Hotels are harder to convert into resi because most dont have kitchens.

The Torch is sold out but resales are available.

2 beds range from about AED 1.35m to 2.0m. Just divide by approx. 6 to get pounds.

I have a marina facing 2 bed / 2 bath on floor 40, you can have it for AED 1.5m = UKP £247,000 with 15 year payment plan.

Looks like the 2 towers in Dubai are neck and neck atm.(70m)
-being 23marina and princess tower.
Of course the 610m Chicago SPIRE will take over both but ill add that when its starts taking shape next year.
The 2 Dubai towers have different construction technique.
23marina has the whole floor /core slip form raise ,while princess tower has a central core with separate floor plates.

CURRENT tallest in world is Australias 322.5m Q1 Tower .while tallest to roof is melbournes 297m /91st Eureka.

while tallest to roof is melbournes 297m /91st Eureka.

very cool apartment towers but in terms of design i'll go for the princess tower and marina tower. construction is still on-going right? I heard a lot of buildings are on hold... is this true, just curious.

is there a difference between apartments and residencial buildings? cause if not, the Chicago Spire will end up the tallest purely residential supertall out there
