Davidson College

In honor of Davidson College reaching the Elite Eight, I figured I'd devote a thread to them. Usually the Triangle's basketball teams make all the headlines while Charlotte's colleges...well...don't. So it's great to see Davidson making some waves.

So, Davidson College is a small liberal arts college of 1700 students located just north of Charlotte:

Recognizing the fact that Davidson doesn't often make it to the Sweet 16, the trustees of Davidson decided to pay for EVERY ENROLLED STUDENT to attend the team's games in Detroit...including bus fare, hotel accomodations, and game tickets.

Davidson is led by Stephen Curry, former Charlotte Hornet Dell Curry's son.

Although they were not expected to make it to the Sweet 16, and they were big underdogs to Wisconsin, they not only found a way to win, but they won CONVINCINGLY, 73-56, to move into the Elite Eight.

So in honor of an incredible season, I figured Davidson had at least earned this thread. Congrats Davidson, and good luck against (probably) Kansas.

I had Davidson losing in the sweet 16 but them winning last night didn't actually screw up my brackets.

I had them losing since the first round, and I had Georgetown going to the Elite 8.
