I want to go to Angola! Only 6 years of peace, it make me shiver to think how things will be in 10 years time.

For me, I would prefer to live in Benguela than Luanda.

All city roads are currently resurfaced, some are already completed..this will also extend to the outskirts of Benguela

Por seu turno a cidadã Maria Domingas, residente na cidade do Lobito há mais de 47 anos, elogiou o governo pelo facto de ter adoptado o novo sistema de drenagem das águas residuais no perímetro entre os bairros da Luz e Caponte.

Para ela, o novo sistema de drenagem de céu aberto está a permitir o escoamento rápido das águas a partir dos esgotos e das chuvas.

Esta alegria é partilhada pela professora Susana da Natividade, para quem todo o trabalho que está a ser feito vai reduzir vários constrangimentos, sobretudo no aspecto sanitário.

"Espero que a reparação das estradas e das valas de drenagem sejam extensivas nas zonas periféricas da cidade", acrescentou.

Os bairros da Restinga e Comercial (28 de Agosto) são os que já se beneficiaram do projecto da reabilitação de ruas e travessas, estando previsto trabalho semelhante nos do Compão, Liro e Luz, nesta primeira fase.

Na segunda fase vão ser abrangidos os bairros que compõem a zona alta da cidade.

Em declarações à imprensa o administrador municipal do Lobito, Amaro Ricardo, disse que o plano estratégico do governo para a requalificação da cidade consiste em reparar as ruas da cidade, jardins, parque infantis, entre outras obras que possam dar nova imagem à cidade portuária.

Na última reunião do conselho de concertação da administração municipal, o administrador Amaro Ricardo garantiu que os cincos milhões que o governo central alocou ao município servirão para resolver os problemas do saneamento básico e reparação de infra-estruturas sociais.
