Here's a standard view of some of Wilmington's central core (the lower part of Center CIty, and the upper part of the Riverfront) from the Riverwalk. I took this picture yesterday.

I was down on the Riverfront to take some pictures of the Justison Landing project going up, which will be 5 or 6 condo midrises with ground-floor retail. This is one of the bigger projects in Wilmington history. They actually just finished extending the grid pattern down into the Riverfront, which I took pictures of for the first time.

Here are some general pictures from the Sports Coplex area in Philadelphia that I never got around to showing.

I'm preparing to make a thread on a section of Washington, DC, so here is a wide-angle picture of the Capitol as a little preview.

That graffiti must be two or three layers deep.

I didn't want to make a separate thread for this. Is anyone here familiar with Albany and knows where exactly would one stop across the Hudson to take a good picture of the downtown skyline? On google earth it looks like some railtracks and a football fields, probably off limits for a car.

Jayayess1190,

What's up with that skyline shot of Wilmo. You have some great pics of B'more and Philly, but you're being a little unfair toward Wilmington.

Those buildings aren’t even part of the central downtown area. They are part of the Lower Downtown / Ships Tavern District, in which new construction is adding more density. The buildings in that part of town tend to look like a few stragglers to the south.

I think this shows that you should get off that freeway next time, especially if it’s the eastern bypass. Plus that industrial scenery in the foreground (which does add some character) only appears in skyline shots from I-495. If your theme was photos from highways (seems to be), a local like myself could tell you that the best views are from I-95 heading northbound from the mega-change and from the Brandywine River Bridge. Oh well, looking for the best location and angle is what makes it fun.

That day my family was headed to D.C. and of course we passed through Wilmington and that shot was the best of all. And that day was really foggy so it was hard to see the skyline really clear.

It makes sense now. That part of the skyline would be closest at that point on I-495. If you were going to see anything through the fog, the buildings of the Christina Center (Chase) and the county courthouse would have to be the clearest.

I really like those pictures of Philly and B’more. The landmark buildings in each city are well shown.

Matt, do you think that ridiculous Phillies sign will ever be removed?

Probably not any time soon, the sign has become a fixture at the ballpark.

Here are some miscellaneous Buffalo pictures from late August, 2006. I'm pretty sure I never showed any of these before; if I did some some, it was only a few of the sunset pictures.
