It's nice that Warsaw keeps getting new skyscrapers, but they are still so isolated... What about to tore down some ugly prefabs and build a real business centre?

Try to convince a hundred of families to sell their flats in just one building - nah. Well, even worse so as for building something big you would have to buyout at least a few of such prefab blocks.

Honestly? Commieblocks fit surprisingly well between highrise projects. What bothers me tho, is the lack of urban planning when it comes down to those projects, especially in neighborhoods like Wola. It seems that building an actual quarter is beyond the understanding of an average highrise developer (yes, I'm talking about Warsaw Spire).

Agreed. In Poland great and rich ideas and heritage have to fight with still strong, liberal take for urban planning which is reaction for over regulated-central planned Poland from commie occupation times. Action-reaction, this works as Pendulum.
But you'd think that 25 years of pure chaos would be enough. Well, not for poles.

Yeah, well, what for... There is still a lot of empty space in Warsaw. For example the never ending story with empty space around Palace of Culture and Science. If I remember correctly the visions were to build there at least a few of nice skyscrappers. There is really no need to destroy anything right now - except from the "ugly prefabs" argument - which is clearly not enough especially for commieblock lovers

It's nice to see some activity on the empty plots in this part of Warsaw. I hope somebody will finally do something with all those butt-ugly parking lots in the area.

The construction of the Skyliner (195 m) is kicking off...

It will be located next to the Warsaw Spire (lower glass building next to the tower on the picture) and Generation Park (140 m), the free plot of land on the picture.
