Nottingham's architecture. It dates back over 1000 years, so the City has had a great range of buildings built throughout its history. Nottingham also has many grand buildings as a result of our fantastic Victorian ancestors and these are the buildings mainly photographed here. Nottingham is actually quite a beautiful place, contrary to what the press prefers to write about it..

Central and University distrcits:

Skyline of the old Central area focussed around Market Square

The old Public Library on Shakespeare Street

University building and Nottingham Guildhall

New buildings rising above Guildhall

The old clocktower of Victoria Station and Victoria Tower

Former Victoria Station hotel now Hilton Hotel and Victoria Tower

Spires and the dome of the Council House

Queen Street and the pillars of the Council House

The opposite street King Street and the Nottingham Eye

Looking back up King Street

Looking back up Queen Street

Fantastic architectre on Market Square

The Left Lion stands watch over the square

The rather big Nottingham Eye and Council House

Upmarket shopping inside the Council Hosue

Market street architecture with the tram wires

Upper Parliament Street with Nottingham Playhouse tower

Wheeler Gate arced buildings

Impressive old bank on Thurland Street

Victoria Street architecture with the tram wires

Multi era architecture on Low Pavement

Victorian Lace Market and Hockley distrcits:

Galleries of Justice on High Pavement

The grand St Mary's Church

Hollow Stone

Kayes Walk

Broadway

The Adams Building on Stoney Street

Cafe's in Hockley

A final rooftop view..
