OK then, sell me on them.

Sell me on one of them.

Seriously, tell me what's nice and unique about them. It is entirely possible that I am blind to their particular beauty. If you can help me out here, and help me appreciate these-- these things, I think you could broaden my horizons.

As it stands, I find nothing pretty about the lesions that are growing out of the sides of these buildings. I get that Aqua is supposed to suggest waves, but frankly that's out of place on a superstructure, if you ask me-- it reminds me of the Titanic sinking, a huge square Titanic engulfed by the Arctic Sea. These bumps and hillocks look to me like physical deformities, or the results of a science experiment gone haywire. That's what I dislike about these structures. There's a way to embellish the facade of a building but I truly don't think this is it.

As regards what I find attractive, I guess I could point you at any of a number of threads here where I've waxed somewhat rhapsodically about the design of a 'scraper. I would need to go through some of my past posts here, by which time you may well have already found several. I'll look.

Guys, I'm not quite getting where this is... This is not Manhattan, is it?
Bit of help please!
Or a wide shot with the skyline in the background...

I should have seen this neighborhood 15 years ago - it was the most dangerous place in whole Brooklyn and now they build towers like these and it is becoming as expensive as Manhattan across the river.

15 years ago I bet East NY, Brownsville, Bedstuy, and Flatbush were still worse off than the Ft. Greene, DT Brooklyn area. Unlike DT brooklyn those areas are still for the most part neglected. Pitken, Atlantic, Pennsylvania, and Nostrand can be pretty dangerous @ night still.

It is a shame, really.

I like this one a lot and it is a great addition for Brooklyn IMO
it puts diversity to the skyline

But i dont really agree with its "uniqueness" ...
because the design somehow reminds me of:
- Beetham Towers in Birmingham and Manchester UK
- and a bit of The Met in Bangkok

.

A fine trophy for Brooklyn. I am glad there are significant building projects going on in New York's other boroughs.
