I disagree with 'named' voting......I wont vote on any poll where names are displayed
People should be able to vote how they please and justify their vote if they feel they need to......personally I think if you think a pic is very good or very bad you should leave your reasons /feelings /thoughts.......but I do respect the fact that people can just leave an honest vote...whatever it is.....and let the submitter take what they want from the overall vote majority.

If the vote is an honest opinion.....an anonymous vote is more likely to be honest.
Ive observed a definate trend in 'upvoting' where names are displayed....especially from thise who are frequent submitters......that said...its better than when I first started contributing.....which wasnt long ago.

My opinion.

Anyhow.....enough of this shit....Ive made my points at least a couple of times.....they dont need repeating again.

Excellent! I am going to take a photo in the next month and enter it into the competition. It is going to win. These are indeed golden days.

I make the polls on my entries anonymous, but I can't force other's to do the same. Maybe in time people will start doing likewise.

i think i know why you have that look. since the fall the only thing that'll go over the leg is trackies and combats, and all that goes with them is hoodies.

so I'm thinking all urbexers are either accident prone or chavs

Don't worry, you have enough 10s to get you to the final methinks.

Even though , I could get past most of London's constructions site security wearing a bright yellow/red clown suit with big shoes , flashing red nose and revolving bow tie ( that makes a whoopee noise as its spins)
.....I like to look a 'little' more formal on the walk back home ..hence the trousers and hoodie..

'Combat' trousers/tops for 'proper urban' , urban explores??? .....pfffffft...noobs...

Can I ask a question, Medsie? How are the finalists for each comp chosen? Are all the marks for each photo added up and the ones with the highest total make the finals or do you work out the average score for each photo, and the ones with the highest average go through? If it's the former then I wouldn't have thought people marking low was a problem because even a low mark adds to the total and therefore increases a picture's chances of qualifying, whereas, if it's the latter, then clearly an excessively low mark (or a high one) would unfairly distort the results.

PS. I do think that voting shouldn't be anonymous. If people think a pic's worth a certain number of points then they should be willing to stand by that score.

wendigo wendigo personally i'm the same as this, people around here are pretty intelligent (the fact we can turn on a computer, get the internet going and not just search for porn says something), if the odd one or two play, let them, they'll soon get bored.

my understanding is every point is added up and not an average.

Anonymous voting is boring. Also, is it really anonymous? If I vote Gothic's frankly odd photo in this weeks competition a 2, is he capable of finding out who it was? Unless it's entirely anonymous, I don't see the point. I have scored from 1 - 10 this week, averaging around a 7, and done so I hope without a hint of unkindness towards those who have been good enough to submit their photos. No-one seems to have taken offence, unless they are just waiting for me to submit a photo and I will find myself having an all-time low score.

as long as you've commented on the ones you've voted low (which you have done) I don't think anyone can take offense.

The ones with the highest average go thorough Wendi.
