Interestingly, there is a very tiny piece of completed US 67 freeway in the Hoxie/Walnut Ridge, AR area, complete with very telling ghost grades at each end.

See:
http://www.bing.com/maps/default.asp...cl=1&encType=1

Check out that north end interchange, especially.

Wow, that is interesting!

To me it looks like they'll eventually go to Jonesboro and Hoxie/Walnut Ridge.

Yepper, chatter that I am seeing in another forvm is reporting that the section of US 67 from AR 226 to the Hoxie-Walnut Ridge bypass is currently under construction and that plans for AR 226 are for it to eventually be upgraded to full interstate-compatibility between US 67 and the Jonesboro area.

BTW, the Google Streetview images of the US 67/AR 226 area show that to be one of the most rural of places in the entire eastern half of the USA - it looks to be an amazing drive.

Hey, has anyone been down the new "South Bay Expressway" extension(State Route 125) in San Diego, CA?

I saw some screenshots of it, and it looks beautiful. It's a toll road, though.

What caught my attention was "99 Toll" in the beginning. I had no idea SH 99 was gonna be a tollway. Interesting.

The Champlain Bridge in Upstate New York closed a while ago after engineers found it's concrete pillars to be rotten and beyond repair. The entire bridge needs to be demolished, so officials closed the bridge until further notice (probably forever).

The Champlain Bridge opened in 1929. There are no nearby ferries, those closest one means a 25 mile detour, and taking another bridge is a detour of 150 miles.

I love those rural areas with white fences

By the way, you may want to wait until the next page with pics, because this page alone totals 73 megabyte in pictures...
