Meanwhile you'll lose the Western tourists who prefer to visit more preserved cities.

On a side note I also find it funny that Vietnam entered the Francophonie Organization, there was even a Francophonie summit there, and Vietnamese authorities said they would boost French use in Vietnam, but on the pictures here it is English that is conspicuous everywhere. Again it's a loss of historical heritage. Becoming just another bland anglophone Asian country will do nothing to help single out Vietnam in the world.
The Truth is they are in a dilemma of wanting both at the same time , but it hard to achieve two goals at the same time , so to face reality is to do it like what you see here...French influence is something
Unique, fun ,romance to keep ,but it's not bringing you much economic prosperity , and that's what VN needs after centuries of poverty , just like alot of the Countries in the Francophone Circle there, none of them really peak in the world stage in term of living standard due to weak Economy , It seems they have no choice but to go with the flow by joinning the Anglophone community of big enterprising commerces , that's why there are English signs all over Cities in VN, but somehow they has managed to keep a lot the old french buildings that remain ( I don't think they wanna destroy them all like you said )and even trying to build more of the new fake French
architeture in Hanoi ,don't you notice ?... you should look clearly my friend...)
and most of the pictures in here are from Hanoi not Saigon , eventhough both Cities are still in their infantry of crawling back up from a deep hole but for some "Special reasons" Hanoi look less messier then Saigon alot day by day , I hope you could understand now

5/5

Vietnam seems to have the perfect mosaic of French, Asiatic and bland Asiatic influences.

Well done!
