Thanks for sharing!

Might sound stupid, but why this area is in turquoise color?

It's the location for the 4th runway, however not sure why the turf is in turquoise color...

If I'm not mistaken, that turquoise is a "spray on grass" (hydroseeding), which is supposed to be a fast and more cost-effective way of growing grass.

Out of curiosity, how easy and time-consuming is it to move between the main terminal and concourse?
I'm going to have a 2 hr layover with Asiana and am interested in exploring the airport.

It takes about 10 minutes. The train goes every 5 minutes.
But, as far as I remember you can not go to the Concourse if you don't have the Boarding Pass for any flight from Concourse. So if you arrive at T1 and then depart from it you can not explore Concourse.

AirAsia Japan Launches International Flight To Korea

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- AirAsia Japan, an affiliate of the Malaysia-born low cost carrier, AirAsia, on Wednesday announced that it is set to fly to Seoul (Incheon), Korea later this month.

The Narita to Seoul (Incheon) international route will begin operations on October 28, with daily flights operating from Narita International Airport, a statement from AirAsia said.

The announcement of the new international route was made simultaneously by AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer, Tony Fernandes, in Seoul and AirAsia Japan CEO, Kazuyuki Iwakata, in Tokyo.

In conjunction with the international flight debut celebration, AirAsia Japan will be also putting on offer seats from as low as KRW2,000 (RM5.53) for grabs.

It said seats between the Narita and Seoul (Incheon) route would be priced from KRW30,000 one way, inclusive of airport tax and fees.

"The announcement of our new international routes to Korea gives me much pleasure as AirAsia Japan can now further expand the AirAsia Group's existing extensive route network, connecting Japan and other countries in Asia," Kazuyuki said.

AirAsia Japan's international flights will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats, similar to its domestic flights.

American Airlines to launch Seoul-Dallas flight next May

American Airlines plans to operate a direct flight from Seoul to Dallas starting next May.

The airline company said the new flight between Incheon International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport will begin from May 10, 2013, and that ticket sales have already begun on Nov. 5 this year.

The route will operate every day from Seoul to Dallas and vice versa. The flight from Incheon International Airport will depart at 5 p.m. and arrive at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport at 4:20 p.m. The flight from Dallas will depart at 10:30 a.m. every day and arrive at Incheon at 3 p.m.

The aircraft will be Boeing 777-200 offering economy, business and first class seats.

“Korea is a very important market for American Airlines. The new flight route has reconfirmed our interest in the Asia-Pacific region. We plan to strengthen the global flight network,” said Erwan Perhirin, Asia-Pacific Vice President of American Airlines.

does Incheon have airport transit hotel? I will be flying KE from PVG and arrive at ICN around 12.00 midnight. My connecting flight to YYZ will depart at 10.40am so I have more than 10 hours to kill in ICN. I heard that KE only provides hotel to connecting passengers to Europe but not for connecting passengers to North America. Is it possible to sleep in the airport? perhaps a lounge that I can pay?

Yes, there are transit hotels inside and outside the terminal building(which one do you prefer?).

well.. there's another thing. i would like to try the one outside Incheon airport but as an indonesian national, i think i need a south korean visa to clear immigration right? on a contrary, i heard, if i hold a connecting ticket to a destination outside South Korea and only used Incheon for transit purpose, I can clear immigration without visa.

where is the transit hotel inside the airport located?

The Transit hotel is situated in Transit zone of Main terminal (4th floor, left and right wings), so you do not have to leave the transit zone (get visa). I used to stay at this hotel 2 years ago. Ordinary hotel, but not a cheap one. 12 hours (night) costs me about $110.
And there is also a lot of places to sleep in the transit zone - sleeping chairs in the rest zone on 4th floor/ There are also showers and massage rooms. So there are some options of killing these 10 hours.
