Beijing Seoul market must be HUGE.

At least 4 to 5 carriers fly that route and I bet all of them are multiple times daily.

There are 66 flights a week from Beijing to Seoul Incheon Int'l but surprisingly only operated by four carriers; Air China, China Southern, Korean Air, and Asiana Airlines. There could be more flight between the two cities but I think there are flight restrictions and because the China-Korea bilateral remains constrained. Recently, more flight were given to airlines from both county but to secondary airports (There is "open skies", but only to China's Shandong and Hainan provinces).

Do you like low quality-pictures taken from moving airplanes with a low-resolution phone? Today's your lucky day !

Here are photos I took yesterday while landing at Incheon.

That's the construction site for Terminal 2. Lots of activity, with at least 8 big cranes (and smaller crane-like devices). After digging and building foundations for the last year or so, they seem to have reached ground level (doesn't really show on my pictures of course, but saw it with my own eyes). You can also see the control tower already rising.

Korean carriers can use any rights to China they can get their hands on.

More Chinese destinations from ICN than HKG.

That might be true at one point, but right now, Seoul has 35 mainland destinations while Hong Kong has over 40.

It’s not the first time I have been to Incheon Airport, this time though I had to wait more than 12 hours for my connection flight. This gave me the chance to take some pictures.

I arrived before sunshine in the A380. Since it was dark and almost all shops were closed I didn’t took much pictures of the Main Terminal. I went to the relaxation center, had something to eat and took off to the Concourse. Yet I have to say Main Terminal is the biggest highlight of the airport.

A380 in the dark.

Interior of the A380.

My selfie in the double decker's bathroom D=

Relaxation center is a top note, perfect to rest after an intercontinental flight.

In the Concourse I had the opportunity to see a parade of different air carriers from around the world. I don’t consider myself expert in planes, so I’m just going to try to guess the airliner type!

A330 of Thai Airways? I’ve never really been able to notice the difference between A350 and A330, but I’m just going to guess anyway. In the back you can see what seems to be another Airbus from Asiana.

A330 from Thai AirAsia.

A340 from Cathay Pacific. Two turbofans per wing makes it easy to guess the airliner type.

Next a Korean low cost airline, Jeju Air. Boeing 737 perhaps?

A330 of Malaysia Airlines? Suddenly I identify every plan is an A330 ha.

Mighty Boeing 747, from Delta. I wonder where in the States does it flight to?

Nice looking Boeing 787 from British Airways.

Vietnamese Airlines… A330, again?

Plane taking off in the background.

China Southern, Airbus A320? I was a little surprised in seeing so many China Southern and China Eastern medium airliners with a lot of destinations, yet didn’t see much of Air China.

Close up to Korean Air 747 in the runaway, getting ready to take off.

Will continue with more next.
