CORDOBA, Spain

You could call this part 2 of my trip to Spain in April 2006. You may want to click the link in my signature to see the Madrid photos which are followed by these ones. Cordoba is a beautiful city of about 320,000 in the autonomous region of Andalusia on the River Guadalqivir. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and hope you enjoy these piccies.

Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks very much, I now realise how many more pictures I should have taken while I was there. Glad you like the pics, I like how Spanish squares do link with sidestreets.

Amazing Spain!

Well, Cordoba is one of the architectural jewels of Europe and the World! All Spain is as a matter of fact!

Great pictures. I love Andalucia.

The most striking contrast is the sober Mosque versus the opulent Catholic church built inside it.

Hey there, I would certainly agree with the latter, the whole of Spain is filled with hidden gems, some as I said hidden and others very well known. There are plenty of Spanish cities on my list of top places to see. Glad you like the pics.

Yeah, probably a bit too hot in summer but between April-May and October-November is probably quite nice, like when I went.

Hi, it is one of my favourite parts of Spain after Catalonia and Madrid. I found the Mezquita fascinating myself. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos in the mosque part because of flash and interference with cameras and all that but actually the brightest part is the Cathedral which was quite something to. As you say, it is a huge contrast.
