The city looks so nice and clean. I guess a lot of renovations have taken place over the last couple of years. Is this the castle that was recently reconstructed?

Looking the pictures would make you think of Copenhagen. Vilnius is so beautiful and is at par with other great cities in Europe, imo.

It still is, for a fifth or sixth year now. - note the plastic thingie just behind the info board, a model of the entrance/gate. Should be opened only in July the 6th next year. The work is now mostly going on inner yard and interiors. Also, buying up the exact same or the most resembeling treasures, furniture, paintings and similar stuff from various palaces and auctions in Europe. Stuff, that stood in the palace before they were stolen and palace itself reduced to rubbish.

BTW, for anyone interested, there's a link to a thread in my signature, containing a much better quality (+ some info and details) pictures of Vilnius.
