“The bridge will form a strategic element of the footpath and cycle network in the area which forms part of the Teesdale Way. It is a fundamental part of the site’s infrastructure and we hope it will enable the University of Durham to expand the Queen’s Campus onto North Shore.

Some really good developments foing on down the A19 then, some look a bit futureistic, and would be surprised if all of them go ahead especially in the current economic climate, but fingers crossed they go ahead. At least the councils down there are looking a bit forward- unlike here in Newcastle.
Looking at all the new developments completed and planned I have never understood why Middlebrough is only a town and not a city- simply cos if Sunderland can be a city (with no cathedral etc) then how come Middlesbrough aint?

I know, I think we should be given City status, I think it would be really good to incoperate the whole of Teesside thus having 'The City of Teesside'.

Don't forget the new grand central rail service that now links hartlepool direct to london.

Is rialto court by mandale then? I knew they were planning something big in stockton - around 500 flats - but nothing more.

Can you find a link to info. on that for me?

Yes Rialto Court is Mandale, I think, well the company who is doing it are called 'Mezzino'. Yes, it is quite big, although i don't know the actual size, would love to find out. And I don't know whether 12 floors is official or not.

Just drove past Rialto Court, and they seem to have completed the back bit now and all the scaffolding is down, looks good, exactly like it does on the 3D image.

Excellent thread bobalania !!!!
Its good to have another Teessider on the forums ,i was thought i was the only one !
The good thing about most of the Teesside projects you have listed are they have the funding in place .
The next couple of years should see quite a few additions to the Teesside skyline.

Yes i agree it is strange Middlesbrough isnt a city ,it is the smallest borough in area in the North East yet the most densely populated ,being almost totally urban ,unlike Sunderland which includes other towns like Washington .
And Middlesbrough has a cathedral, (Roman Catholic).

bobalania, do you know anything about that round midrise in billingham? I think it's called kingsway house, and looks fairly interesting when I've seen it from the train. It's probably about 12 storeys or so in height.

Yes, i do, I go past it pretty often. I have been trying to find a picture of it, but no look. Its not very nice, just a concrete residential building. Not sure of the height but it is about that. It Might be getting improved with the Town Centre redevelopments.

Do you know of the height(s) of the big yellow tower blocks in Stockton, i have been trying to find out, i also couldn't find a picture?
