i think the design is overkill in a last ditch effort to attract a team or franchise to come to LA

this misconception is really starting to get on my nerves. Not pointing you out, rather, the fact that LA did support the teams, it was when it was known they were leaving, so did the fans. We had the two worst owners in NFL history, with that skank Georgia and al davis.

I personally would want a stadium in LA City, not in the middle of nowhere. Renovate the Colosieum, its right next to the new expo line and Downtown, as well as centrally located. If not there, then near Chinatown and a renovated LA River, also close to transit.

UCLA has never said anything about the NFL, and the Colosieum and USC have come to an agreement where USC will renovate the stadium and get some other rights. Seating will stay above 90,000.

Oh gosh, someone please tell me this is some sort of joke. Cutting-Edge? Please. It looks like the majority of NFL stadiums.

Cutting edge = boring stand design with some fancy skin exterior to make up for the lack of originality in the bowl?

Give a me a bowl design like this every day of the week.

Why? Do you have a problem with the word "Football" being used for anything other than soccer?

Ah, OK. I thought you were opposed to the word you appeared to have cut out.

If I was King of the forum, I'd put "GRIDIRON" or "AMERICAN FOOTBALL" on some thread titles and "SOCCER" or "ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL" on others, in a vain attempt to stop arguments...

I like it. I like that jumbled, put-together look. And what most of you don't realize is that it's perfect for southern California weather where as the song goes: it never rains!!

The location is so far from LA proper though -- and I don't see why USC would make the empty threat of moving to the Rose Bowl when LA Memorial is right at their back door.

Count me as one who prefers the traditional bowl design, so I really like this proposal.

I think it will be the Jaguars that move. They do a poll every year over how much support each team gets and the Jags constantly finish in last place (32 out of 32) despite having a pretty good team. It was a little naive to for the NFL to put a team in Jacksonville anyway.

I think LA can support a team. Back when the NFL was in LA they had two teams there so the city wasn't unified. They both moved within the same year. With a brand new stadium, only one team to support, and with the NFL's popularity at an all time high, I don't think there will be any problems with LA selling out their stadium.

While the design is not cutting edge and it looks like a TV commercial, I with all the advertisements I'm all for an NFL team to LA. Even better that it's right in my backyard, Diamond Bar! The only thing is it is far from LA proper and the SF valley, but it is very close to Orange County, so they trade one demographic for another.

I can't imagine the traffic on Grand and Diamond Bar Blvd, it would definitely wreck havoc in the area.

I'm not that swayed by the design either way, but I am amazed to see some American stadium renders that aren't stylised to look like they were done in pastels.

Hurrah! Break that mould!

I could see the Rams moving back...

Georgia Frontiere was the champion of moving the team to St. Louis. Now that she's passed on, the team is terrible, fan support is dwindling and the dome is not a very attractive venue, I could see the LA Rams making a comeback.

I agree and hope so, absolutely nothing against Jacksonville but it just doesn't seem to be big market to hold an NFL franchise with a fairly mundane new stadium in a state that already had two other teams.

If not I would like to see the Raiders move though I think it would comically sad that the Raiders would yet again be playing musical chairs with the Bay and L.A. Maybe in 2035 they should move back to Oakland or San Jose.

ok, the saints and raiders could move, but not the jags and especially not the Bills. Bills fans are very die hard and pack in 70k+ in the freezing cold just like the packers fans. They are a staple in Buffalo. I couldn't see the Jags moving either.

Does this proposed NFL stadium in Los Angeles look similar to the new Soldier Field?
