Arrow London Skyline 2008

This is a "general" construction thread where you can post skyline shots of London. They must be recent pics, and preferably long distance views that
show a portion of the skyline with cranes etc. The idea is that, rather than having photos spread all over the place, they can be collated together in one
thread. You can still continue to post pics in other threads, of course (!), but there's now the option of having the best ones duplicated here.

Each year I'll create a new thread, so we can archive the old ones and look back at how the skyline evolved. Thanks to Chest for suggesting this, btw...
a great idea, as the regional forums have similar threads which have proved to be extremely popular.

I'll start this off. Here's the current view from Waterloo Bridge, taken by me a few weeks back -

Here's one i took from Hampstead Heath a few weeks ago - there are a few construction sites if you look around (Pan Peninsula, Broadgate, The Shard etc. )

excellent stuff, two great starts to the thread, there are so many great skyline shots that many of us miss because they are all spread about..I've never even seen Wills opening pic of this thread before.

Beckton Alps.

"Part of a railway locomotive from the works was discovered buried there during excavations at the site."

How cool is that?

I don't live too far from that. Infact, I think it's the same postcode as mine!
I rode my £99.99 mountain bike down there to see how "mountainy" my bike was. Didn't go too well.
