whoever thought blue window frames and brick where the way forward for architecture needs pushing out to sea in a dinghy... The Gherkin and T42 looking timeless on those shots

I agree it looks awful. Face brick and concrete dont age well in the UK climate anyway. The bare brick needs decorating with cornicing which can be painted to uplift the look, but without this it ages badly. I think brick has continued to be used here for new buildings to be "sympathetic" to the surrounding area which is invariably Victorian terraced, and then ruined by giving it a "modern twist". So it's neither Victorian nor modern. They also seemed to build a lot on the cheap - in 1981 the last thing they cared about was making it look beautiful and we end up with half measures... something that continued in the docklands until a couple of years ago from what I can tell. Still, it beats what was there.

My London skyline album on Flick, with very familiar views from Greenwich, but some less seen ones from St Saviours Estate or Perivale.

interesting selection Manuel - like the view from Beckton Alps you should post that on here, also like the view from Horsenden Hill - all the towers appear as if in one cluster..great stuff.

The ES pic of day. With Pan P & 22MW this view has changed quite a bit since last year.
