818 metres length of main span, and maybe if i'm not wrong for height of main span is more than 140 metres, i forgot it.

Many reason why this bridge is delayed again. First is absolutly fund problem, when world is in economical crisis this impact on fund loan from china delayed. Second is weather problem, in Indonesia december 2008 is in rain season, so this is make project delayed.

But this bridge almost complete, august will operate, maybe last july this bridge complete.

The construction contract for the building of the bridge was signed on Sept. 24, 2004 between China and Indonesia and the construction work began in October 2005.

Penang Bridge from shore to shore is 9 kms. The rest (i.e 4kms) are flyovers at the island side crossing two highways.
