this is the construction activity captured from the eastern side. (the earlier photograph was from the north)

here we can see the 2 wings of the building, and the two segments of the second wing are yet to be connected as per the renderings. seth beumonde towers can be seen in the background. photo taken on 3rd may 08.

harsh,

couldnt help man, from the building where i stay, i can take pics only of the northern side of the construction site. the next closest structure which i could access, on the eastern side, which gives the full view of the construction activity, was located about 1200 meters from jupiter mills

eastern view: another pic

this is taken from a slightly closer building, but from a low altitude. hence the resolution is slightly better, but the view is compromised becoz of obstructing structures.

along with sheth beaumonde, one of the sumer trinity towers can also be seen in the background (towards the right side)

Kalyan, have a look at this image -

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/7351/01oq8.jpg

That has to be the 75 storey tower u/c since it's located away the office complex and is well within the compound of Jupiter mills.

from google maps, the location of that u/c building (encircled) wrt to the office complex -

indiansunite,

in the following picture,
I : eastern wing of the project
II: southern wing
III: northern wing , as per the rendering, but construction hasnt yet been started., which overlaps with the red ellipse qouted by u as the probable site of the 75 storeyed tower. but honestly that red ellipse will not be more than 25 meters across. hence it is too small an area to construct a 75 storey tower. and for example if 2500 people are going to reside in that 75 storeyed residential tower, where is the space for the facilities? the entire dimensions of the mill land is only abt 180*220 meters (my rough estimation, can have 10-20% error).
IV: vestibule/ canopied service- recreation area

blue square: the building where i live

no buddy, the photograph clearly indicates construction activity on the right side of the service road, i.e, towards the east side. []

also since i have personally been observing the construction activity, i can assure you that that was a pic of the eastern wing during the early stages of its construction, and would have been shot sometime during may-june 2007 (pre monsoon). []

I don't think the 75 storey tower (if it gets built) will add too many residents. It is tall but doesn't necessarily cover a lot of ground area. Seems there will be only 50 floors for residential purposes (the 25 lower floors could be used for other purposes like parking) and judging by the looks these will be probably luxurious duplexes or triplexes. So assuming about 40 condos and 8 people per condo - that's 320 people.

Maybe we should have a separate Jupiter Mills thread for the 15-25 storey commercial complex alone with the under construction tag and photos by Kalyan?

The google earth view

and the render on the smithgill website don't seem to match (assuming that flyover is the same one)

unless we reverse it..

Kalyan, if you have a look at that image, it looks like a building u/c and not a wing of the office complex. In the image you can see the side of the flyover behind the tin barriers, Beaumonde towers at the back and a pit with water in the foreground. Compare that with the reversed rendering and the following google earth image and you'll realize that that is infact the tower u/c.

If it were part of the office complex then they would have leveled much more land and carried out pre-construction work in an area as large as the other wings that you see in the google earth image. Btw, that picture of the site was taken on Jan 8 2008 and not pre monsoon 2007.

Given its size, lets not also rule out that that thing u/c could be the core of the tower. Can you have a look at that corner and take some images?

new photographs

hello pals!

got a few new pics of the jupiter mills construction site.

these are the pics taken from my terrace (north side of the mill land)

this is the site (red ellipse) which indiansunite suggested could be the site where the 75 storeyed tower is gonna come up.

this is the view of the east and south wings, taken from the west side of the plot.

today i went and had a casual chat with the security person of the construction site. he told me that no 70 storey building is coming up there, what is being constructed is 2-3 towers of 40 storeys each for commercial/residential use.

Thanks for the pics Kalyan. That corner seems to have changed quite a lot since that picture posted by Jai was taken. What I'll do is that I'll call IndiaBulls up tonight and ask them what's up with the tower and where it'll be built. I doubt they would ever reply to that email they asked me to send. Anyways I called Smith and Gill (the architects of the tower) today and like the past 5 calls, the phone after being redirected went to somebody's voice mail. I've left a message again, so lets hope the person calls me back.
