Lodha Bellismo faces a bit of hurdle
According to a recent newspaper report ,a large part of this building faces the Arthur Road jail, where lots of criminals are facing trail. The jail authorities have already informed Lodha group about its threat and want it to alter the plans.
However the chairman of Lodha group said it's a dead wall that faces the jail so it would not pose any threat. He didnt specify about any possible change in the design. Hope everything goes well as planned ...... |

Well they are not supposed to but then again it's India. Anything is possible there. Also not just one picture but in many pictures it does look tilted. I hope it's just the optical illusion.

Most of the shots were taken from the Mahalaxmi bridge over the Central line. The incline of the bridge is the culprit that has made Bellissimo appear to be tilted. Just compare it to the Ashok towers in the back. Don't they also look tilted?

The incline of the bridge logic would work if the picture was taking using a tripod, otherwise it should not make any difference. None the less, it is very obvious that some kind of optical illusion makes it look tilted. Of course the builders are not going to make a tilted tower by mistake.
Yes the tower in the back ground does look tilted. |

that because of shooting with wide angle lenselike this photo of Eiffel tower image hosted on flickr ![]() even in today's(june 06 2009) banner you can see buildings in differents corners are tilting towards left or right corners. |

This discussion about why the building appears tilted is daft. It is common sense (or atleast I thought it was). Lets get a move on, shall we?

What else would bare concrete look like? Atleast wait for the building to be substantially ready before downright ridiculing it. Fancy construction netting that ameliorates the aesthetics an u/c building is still unheard of in India.

Actually, the concrete look or lack of netting has absolutely nothing to do with why I think this building is ugly. This building has two sides which are thin, and have no windows. People looking at it those sides will basically see a tall featureless concreate column. Then you look a the front and you see that they've really put a lot of effort into looks. Lots of intricate lines, layers and nooks which are probably going to look quite good once painted. I personally think it would look a lot better if they simplified the front facade (there by reducing cost) and put some windows on the side.

The height of the building is 252m yet it has just 50 floors. It does not make sense. We can see from the pic that each floors are not exceptionally high nor it has any parking structure underneath which might have caused it to be 252m with just 50 floors. Something is wrong.

I went to the Lodha Bellisimo site a couple of days ago. They claim that possession of tower A & B will be given by the end of this year for people to start work on their apartments.
Looks like an excellent project! |
