The club is at least 6 months away. The work is very slow. The tiling of the outside pool is going on. The club building is ready - they are doing the interiors.

Availability status of South City as of date, from its website

Total units - 1672 (4 Towers of G+35 floors) + 100 (1 tower of G+15 floors)

Available units:
Tower I - None (Sold Out)
Tower II - 1 (Type K, Floor 35)
Tower III - 2 (Type L, Floor 34 & 35)
Tower IV - 2 (Type B, Floor 1 & 2)
Tower V - None (Sold Out)

So, a total of just 5 units are unsold out of 1772. How's that for success rate??

Thats a hit of project by any standards.

The thing is in Calcutta, the old-money and nouveau-rich all had for the last 10 years not many options to live if they wanted to say they have "arrived" or for the old-money,no new bungalows are being built anywhere. Its this upper class of 1% of Calcutta population who are thinking of buying second homes other than their Ballygunge,Southern-Avenue,Alipore bungalows and the younger lot who want something state-of the art, cutting edge design and preferably tall skyscrapers. And the buzzword for them is Location,Location,Location.Everyone is willing to pay top money if for good location,
In the same-way i am not too sure, how soon with the "V" in rajarhat manage to sell its flat.

Even if they are 10,000 families in the Calcutta area which can afford luxury flats,it will be more than enough to fuel this luxury housing and skyscraper boom for sometime.Same thing happened to Bel-Air,the flats were snapped up very fast.Merlin Cambridge,Shiromani,Tirumani shall all be sold out(or is) soon.Atmosphere with its sky-high price is already a success.Infact as samrat has already pointed out,Kolkata has one of the best success rates for premium housing projects overall.

You have excluded the NRI and Kolkatans settled in other parts of India - South City has huge percentage in this category. In fact if you take up any premium project in Kolkata, at least 40% of the owners will be in this category.

Question Question

I have a sort off strange question, All these projects are building high-end clubs... suppose if i don't have a flat with that project but i want to be a member of the club do they have this facility??? can we join the club by paying membership fees without being a owner of flat.

I'm not sure about South City, but other clubs do extend their memberships beyond the flat residents, although residents can avail memberships at a much more subsidised rate than outsiders.

There you go. The 5th tower is almost ready as well as the club exteriors. What is left is the landscaping & beautification in front of that area and the club interiors.
