From what I know, in the communist era there seemed to be no great care taken of architectural spots, which resembled aristocratic legacy (sometimes referred to as the left-overs of 'noble' Poland).

P.S. Mind you, there are examples from communist Poland after 1945, when local authorities would've allowed e.g. manor houses (dwory) fall into ruins. And that did refer to our own, Polish heritage. Very sad...
