Wow! Simple and beautiful!

I wonder if those two images are two different sides of the same design (with 1st being the front and the 2nd being the side), or if they are the two different proposals that someone mentioned a few pages back. If it's the latter, I wonder which is the "iconic" one or the "safe, but nice" one that the guy posted. Well that design is certainly iconic to me.

From what Ayala has said, it seems this one will be around 40-45 floors in height. Taller than the Ayala Tower 1 in Makati, I think, but far from a supertall. I doubt it will pass PBCom Tower either.

the PSE reported that only 1/10th of 1% of pinoys participate in the stockmarket...they should have tickertapes and lcd's which will lead to inquisitiveness and that should make the PSE ground area a major meeting place...expressions develop like meet you at picadilly circus, or meet you at grand central station or town hall steps....if the base of the PSE building is done well the expression could develop: meet you at the PSE tickertape and lets walk through boni high street/serendra and decide where to eat...etc etc etc....

I like the sound of that. I can't wait to buy a condo in BGC. Then on a whim, I could meet my wife at "our spot" after work and we'll take it from there. Perhaps dinner at the Piazza? Shopping at the luxury brands at the High Street section near PSE/Shang?

(In my dreams)

Why did you post this one and not Landmark 66? I was actually planning on posting the Landmark 66 thread whenever more details came out or when construction started.

EDIT: Oh, just noticed you posted this in the Highrises section. It should be fine there. Landmark 66 shall be in the Supertall section I'm guessing.

Its alright. I was expecting a little bit more ooomph given the prestige this building is suppose to have and the amount of hype it has received in the local brokerage industry. Although the design is pretty good compared to the Net boxes that you see in BGC, it doesn't really blow away any existing architecturally stunning buildings in Makati City (RCBC, LKG, GT International, Ayala Tower One) and Ortigas (One Corporate, Union Bank Plaza). I suppose expectations are a little too high and I honestly don't know of any stock exchange building anywhere in the world (including the one that I work in) that tries to be the most architecturally stunning building in the country (only exception is the proposed NYSE building by Donald Trump a while back). Nonetheless, this building will be a great addition to the Philippines. We rarely see 40+ storey office buildings go up nowadays so I'm happy we're getting this...

^ I think it's better than One Corporate Center because the glace facade will probably be see through with this one unlike the OCC.

I agree. Given the hype and its prestige, i was expecting something incredible. Its a good design, but its not iconic for me. Blossoming cities such as Moscow, many cities in China and even Hanoi has better designs than this. Like queetz, i guess my expectations were too high. But then again, since it is the PSE (which represents the Philippine economy) it commands high expectations.

though the other angle of the building as shown above looks stunning... the building's upper floors seem flat but it then curve and escalate to pierce the bgc sky.. i think it would be hot. we might just have to wait for a more flattering render.

Another thing i noticed....no helipad (or space for it). Quite strange since most highrises in MM, (esp. office towers) have them. I'm guessing the middle will be a skygarden.

very very nice curves! let's hope the final product will be a lot better than this. i like the podium part. it creates an impression of grand entrance that Ayala Tower One does.

i reckon shang also have renders now. they're starting construction next month, so it just makes sense to have an idea how your structure will look like when you start digging already.

hmm.. judging from the photo to the right the shangrila tower is to the tower's left (the one with trefoil pattern)

basing from the image the tower plan is triangular, similar to tower one. fire stairs and elevator core positioned along corner edges of tower, leaving middle column free. this allows the side floor plates to rise up even higher than the middle cavity. the top portion of the middle floor plate could actually serve as an interesting sky garden.

the tower profile in the renders remind of of Norman Foster's millenium tower proposal in London.

SOM's design here reminds me of their use of the huge transfer columns for structural loading for their other proposals which didnt get approval. both transbay towers in SF and shanghai center in SH use the same concept of achieving column free lobby space, albeit not the mitchell truss diagram superimposed on its facade.

can't wait to see more detail of its curtain wall. right now seems like there is no articulation.

overall i think it should have a greater distance between its neighboring towers. otherwise it will just be cluttered together with other tower blocks losing its elegance. if you notice tower one's position is very strategic in such a way that it is a focus rather than a side show along ayala ave. just my pov
