here's some info on a gurgaon project that I have been very much interested. It involves hines and the famous architect robert stern. This should be very interesting

Nice. The tallest will be a 30 storey office tower.

An aerial view

Capital City Centre
Gurgaon, India

Hines, in partnership with DLF Ltd., India's largest real estate company, will develop a 15-acre site located on Golf Course Road in Gurgaon, India. The site is directly across from the DLF Golf Course and its residential community known as DLF Golf Links. Robert A.M. Stern Architects will develop a master plan for the entire site as well as design the first phase of the complex, a major 30-story office tower of approximately 852,151 square feet together with ground-floor retail space and a large parking garage.

In addition to the office tower, the master plan is likely to include high-end retail shops, restaurant and entertainment venues, a hotel, and landscaped exterior and interior public spaces. It may also include serviced apartments and a second office tower. The total mixed-use complex is envisioned to include approximately 2.5 million square feet of construction. This is the first project in India for both Hines and Stern.

Thanks for the update.

30 floors, that's very welcoming. The NCR with Gurgaon in particular is being showered with a plethora of cool low rise buildings. It's now time to scrap the height restriction and start building 200+ m skyscrapers. As as skyscraper fan, a city's panorama is never complete without a cluster of tallies in the view.

If you mean the completed Tower on the right, its the Vatika Tower. the Tower block is 60m high (which is as much Gurgaon would permit at the tim e of design/construction)

The reason for going high is valid in Mumbai but not applicable in Gurgaon. Mumbai doesnt have any option but to go vertical. NCR doesnt have that compulsion, and given the landcost to allowable FAR, there is no particular reason but "developers ego" to go tall.

Now that the height restriction is removed, expect some proposal of supertalls to come around, but there will not be a lot of it due to economics, atleast not in the next 3 years.

what I am really concerned about is that this development happening in form of blocks, i mean is their any organizational plan as to how Gurgaon has to grow ? A high level picture ??

Otherwise it will be really funny to see all these sleek glass structures randomly spread around in the area. That will be tragedy.

Gurgaon actually looked rather nice in a couple of the aerials posted earlier. Far more organized than a lot of SE asian cities like Kuala Lumpur, which I think is one city that has the problem you are talking about. The only thing is Gurgaon right now doesn't have that many good looking buildings of a respectable height.
