as the DPR has been prepeared ...........the Greater noida metro also needs to be discussed here ...............it's completion is proposed to be by 2012 ..........................nd yes the Greater noida railway station has also been chalked out by greno authorities which has a budget of rs. 130 crores......JAPANESE govt. is goin to bear the expenses fr this(confirmed by newspapers)....................and the Grand Venezia MALL coming up opposite to the GOLF COURSE is also fantastic.......................its almost of the size of G.I.P.(NOIDA VIZ. THE BIGGEST MALL IN N.C.R.)..............

or is it that you are making an assumption about the delay????

mannhhhh i think metro is good at meeting the deadlines ......better than gvt. atleast!!!!! so even if there is a delay it wont be twice the proposed time of completion!!!!!!!

gip has an area of 1,500,000-square-foot (139,400 m2)=150 acres Unitech’s Great India Place at Noida had eclipsed all other shopping malls in the National Capital Region with 1.5 million sq ft of space. Ambience is 1.8 million sq. ft............(including HOTEL LEELA which is not the part of shopping arena)............thats why i said GIP is the biggest one.........

the work(soil testing) for metro is going to start in November

Where in this world you have seen a 30 km metro line getting built in less than 2 years ? Do I need an official data to attest with that statement I made

FAR raised, Noida set to grow taller, greener

NOIDA: Noida is set to grow vertically, and if all goes to plan, turn greener and more resident-friendly, weaving in nursing homes and recreational spaces within residential units. The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) has increased the floor-area ratio (FAR) - the ratio beween total built-up area and area of land on which the building is constructed - from 2.5 to 3, meaning more apartments can come up on a given plot.

In a green stroke, the authority also increased the FAR for environment-friendly buildings from the current 2.75 to 3.75.

Both decisions, taken at the 169th board meeting of the authority on Tuesday, are expected to increase supply and help in containing real estate prices in Noida, which, in turn, will have a salutary impact on prices of residential units in NCR.

In a bid to fix the crisis for parking space, residents will now be allowed to leave space on the ground floor to construct proper garages. The limit will be of about eight metres and will be applicable to houses with minimum width of 150m. "The illegal parking on the roads is a nuisance for residents. Allowing garages will solve the parking problem for the time being," said an officer.

In another important decision, the authority has decided to allow nursing homes to come up even in residential areas. However, there is a caveat here. "Only those clinics which are more than 250m in width and have a 24m wide road in front will be allowed to function. The parking problem has to be taken care of by the proprietor. We took this decision after finding that people have to travel several kilometres to reach a nursing home now," said the officer.

New schools coming up in Noida, meanwhile, will have to reserve 65% of their seats for residents of Gautambudh Nagar and another 10% for students from rural pockets whose parents are mostly into farming and whose land has been acquired for government projects in the past.

In a breather for shoppers, a skywalk connecting the Sector 18 metro station to the malls nearby has also been approved. "We have decided to construct a skywalk linking the Metro station with the shopping area around the Great India Place. Four companies, including one from the US, have shown interest in the project. We will appoint a consultant soon and work should begin in the next three months," said the officer.

Among other decisions, the authority will set up an expert committee to go into the draft master plan proposal to increase the green area by another 300 hectares against the existing 2021 plan. "The public-private-partnership model will be followed. The authority will deposit money and private players will be allowed standard-size spaces for their publicity," said chairperson Mohinder Singh.

Noida officials said they had also agreed to draw up a fixed building bylaw for all three authorities functioning in the area - Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna. The board has also decided to set up an Industrial Training Institute, primarily to train children of landless labourers of the area. In addition, the board will rehabilitate farmers whose land was acquired before 1997 because there were no satellite images available for the settlement of claims. "The farmers' demands, especially after the Aligarh agitations, are on the top of our minds," said an officer.

Of course yes ! If you closely follow how much time metro takes to build from proposal to Detailed project report to Central and state govt approval to tendering to land acquisition to construction to commissioning, you will be able to guess why 2012 was a random number.
