New pilot, crew training unit to be set up in Noida

http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/...ue&ref=wl_home

New Delhi, Nov 23: A new pilot and maintenance technician training centre, capable of providing advanced training to around 5,000 ground and cockpit crew a year, will come up in Greater Noida by 2013.

A joint venture of world’s largest aircraft manufacturer Airbus, Canada-based aviation technology major CAE and India’s InterGlobe, the facility would be able to train pilots and technicians for airlines in India and the neighbouring region.

InterGlobe and Airbus recently held a ground breaking ceremony for the $100-million training centre, which was attended by the representatives of Airbus, CAE and InterGlobe.

CAE and InterGlobe are the primary equity partners in the joint venture, while Airbus would provide the simulators, the curriculum and pilot trainers and both Indian and foreign pilots would be trained here.

“The demand for pilots in India and the neighbouring region is large. India is one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world and will require above 1,000 aircraft over the next 20 years, so investing in pilot and crew training facility is for the long term to continue the growth of the national’s commercial airlines and in turn the growth of the Indian economy,” said Mr Kiran Rao, President, Airbus (India).

Though it would not provide initial training to churn out fresh pilots, the facility would initially have four simulators, which would be increased to eight, each capable of providing advanced training and refresher courses to estimated 700 pilots annually.

“This training centre will be pivotal to meeting the needs of the civil aviation community in India and offer access to globally benchmarked training technology and solutions to aviation personnel here,” said Mr Rahul Bhatia, InterGlobe Group Managing Director.

Spread over 3.5 acres, the focus of the new training centre would be to provide “wet” and “dry” type-rating, recurrent, conversion and jet indoctrination training for commercial aircraft pilots. Programmes will also be offered for maintenance technicians.

“This will be the fifth CAE aviation training facility in the country, and our entire focus at these training centres is enhancing the safety and operational efficiency of our customers,” Mr Jeff Roberts, CAE Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Service, said.

The centre would become part of the Airbus-CAE flight crew training services cooperation agreement which provides Airbus operators with a joint global network of training centres with the largest fleet of full-flight simulators (FFS) for Airbus aircraft types, standardised course and expert instructors.

Airbus-CAE training cooperation, which began in 2002, has grown to more than 60 FFSs at nearly 20 locations in Asia, India, the Middle East, Europe, North and South America.

At the Bengaluru centre established in 2007, CAE trains more than 1,500 crew members annually including pilots from several Indian airlines such as Air India, Go Air, IndiGo, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and SpiceJet.

In partnership with the Government of India, CAE operates ab initio flight schools in Gondia and Rae Bareli. It also operates with partner Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) a helicopter training centre in Bengaluru equipped with the first advanced, full-fidelity helicopter simulators in India.

sorry for late response.

I feel the number 2 million(20 lakh) is exaggerated. It is hard to believe that 1 lakh people will be accommodated in 1 square km on an average(please remember 2000 hectares is the area of the whole city which is equal to 20 sq.km).

I wonder if Pahargunj- karolbagh or geeta colony - gandhinagar area do have this much congestion of people

till now, we don't have such a city in India having 20 sq. km area with 20 lakh people

That's no london price dude...9000 rs per square feet is not that much...however, for noida its bit high.....We have more expensive projects than this priced at 14000 rs -20000 rs in Gurgaon....in Delhi City prices are in range of 25000 Rs - 90,000 Rs per square feet.....and they all are sold out....so ..

Jaypee Peble Street in Noida is priced at 16000 Rs psf and 3C Delhi One( Superior Location, probably the best location in NCR) project is priced at 8000-11000 Rs psf , also sold out...
its just that Noida at least now can't demand this high price for a project under construction...slowly it will...

With an expected population of 7 lakh up to 2011 and 12 lakhs up to 2021, Greater Noida City has been designed for planned growth to ensure supply will always exceed demand. Greater Noida is being touted as the next big real estate destination. The city is coming up with a number of innovative plans, which have given a push to the real estate market.

The 12th five-year Plan has a clear set of priorities in the areas of infrastructure, water management, farm output and health and education, according to Saumitra Chaudhari, member of Planning Commission of India.
Delivering the keynote address at the fifth Nitte national conference on ‘Development Challenges in the 12th Five-Year Plan,’ organised by the justice K S Hegde Institute of Management at Nitte in Udupi district, he said the first priority in the economic domain is to take the task of infrastructure creation forward.
The second priority is to ensure that water is appropriately managed — from harvesting and impounding to its use in various applications and finally to its recycling.
The next priority is to raise farm output through productivity gains. The thrust will be also on health and education.
He said manufacturing will have to grow at a more accelerated pace than it has in the last few years.
Services and technology are the nerve centres of a modern society.

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) could soon lose its monitoring role over all housing activities in the national capital. The finance ministry has initiated work on creating a new regulator for the capital’s housing sector to replace the DDA, which currently acts as a regulator, a housing board as well as a builder.

livelyfire, thanks for your posts.

Your posts are nicely technical rather then speculative or bs.
Not to get nosy, you come across as an insider and a professional.

Re: DDA-She-Dee-Yay; good to hear that it's being fixed up, it's a den of corruption this DDA.
I've heard horror stories, up close and personal from my own father who build his kothi in the 80's.

Nice, keep it up /\ .
