3-5 yrs. high-rise clusters will equal slum clusters, 50-50!

While high rise clusters rarely turn into slums (sometimes they do like chawls),
slums do re-develop as high rise clusters so the 50-50 benchmark is good, after that its all the way downhill for slums, bastis, ghettos, chawls what have you.

@MOD- How is the demand for supernova shaping up? I read recently that Shilpa shetty bought a flat there, so i'm pretty sure it is a serious project! When are they going start construction?

NEW DELHI: Hotel Leela venture Limited, which runs a chain of luxury hotels, has signed a contract to manage an upcoming 250-room hotel in Noida adjoining Delhi.

The hotel is being built by real estate company Supertech at an investment of Rs 450 crore as part of its mixed-use project called Supernova.

Vivek Nair, vice-chairman and managing director of Hotel Leela Venture, said his company aims to focus more on an asset light strategy, doing mostly management contracts for new hotels. It recently signed another management contract with the Bhartiya Group for a 235-room hotel near the new Bangalore airport.

The company recently got approval for a corporate debt restructuring package, according to which it is expected to be debt free by the end of the FY 2013.

Hotel Leela Venture has been looking at selling its assets to reduce its Rs 4,000 crore debt. It has managed to sell its property in Kovalam for Rs 500 crore and now expects to get close to Rs 700 crore by selling non-core assets over the next three years.

Nair indicated that his company was close to selling Leela Business Park in Chennai. This is expected to fetch the company around Rs 200 crore. The company is also selling its land parcel in Hyderabad, where it was to build a luxury hotel. It had earlier signed two joint ventures in Bangalore and Pune to develop housing projects.

Nair also plans to raise Rs 2,000 crore through qualified institutional placement or foreign currency convertible bonds when the market sentiment improves.

When 50% of slums are re-developed, the remaining 50% of slums follow re-development easily. Precedent!

As of now 50 % of slums ARE not re-developed. I believe it will happen in 3-5 yrs., Congress or BJP!

Naah this will not be the case my friend ...All the developers are getting together and will be making sure that the area in totality looks great and better than any.....This expressway projects are just amazing...


Also, All the projects will be on Highway and these supertalls will form a nice cluster when all of them are announced....Noida's infra is very nice especially the new area's..

I Think Namaste Tower, Mumbai i the best in India by a mile..this is good but Spira, Supernova scores with some amazing design...

Happy to see them under construction though...

Guys, There is a new project that is hopefully going to be developed near the Noida Sector 15 metro station. It's basically come in place of 'Landmark towers' which was originally the name of the project but never took off for some reason. Anyways, the board out side the plot has renderings of the building which are very classy. Since it is being developed by the same group that was supposed to develop 'Landmark towers', I have my doubts about it coming up but recently i saw some activity on the plot so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

There is no pic worth posting as only digging is going on. once it comes above the ground i shall post one, ie if it comes up considering landmark towers never came up!

It isn't landmark towers, this project is scrapped. It is called tempeaton or something like that. The renderings look even sexier than this.
