@ Krishnaswamy : Yes the entry and exit points in Urapakkam ROB are blocked.
@ arsshyam : Thats a good view, its hightime Railways publish the project start date, end date and cost of the work (case by case basis) in the worksite. But i believe its a slightly delayed work as per the end dates earlier provided in Newspapers. |

Locals stole the logs that used to block entry and exit points. HD started building walls after the incident..

But before that why the corporation is not bothered to provide basic things to the existing fly overs. For example, Mduravayal flyover. It is completly swalled by dark. It is really pathetic to see people strugle in the nights. Especially, two whelers and light vehicles. Is there any reason that those fly overs are not properly provided with lights?

the notion that you should put to "human use" every inch of space available under the flyover is ridiculous... even if it serves a noble cause such as a public latrine/toilet. would they just please grow some plants that use least/NO water and just get done with it. you cannot control human .. you can only control the nature

IMO, it can be used for any purpose, which will encourage people crossing the roads to have food, or get their 2 wheeler from parking lot or shop owners to park their cars permanently.
Revenue or social cause should be important without causing much chaos to existing traffic.

Public toilets & Parking - under the Bridge.
Good quality Paid public toilets & paid parking under the bridge would be very helpful and also generate revenue for the corporation.
I feel under bridge space is not suitable for relaxation & recreation use for public. If they put benches and sitting area it will be occupied by homeless people or it will become a hang out for thugs. If no revenue source then there will be no man power involved to monitor, clean and maintain. If leased out to toilet & parking contract at least man power will be employed 24/7 to supervise and prevent the joint from turning in to a dump. The above option is suitable only for certain flyovers in busy comercial area with high pedestrian traffic ( T nagar, Mabalam, Anna Arch, Thirumangalam etc. It is not suitable for motorway type high speed bridges & fly overs such as Kathipara, ORR etc.
