ARHUS | Light*House | 142m | 46 fl | App

The current tallest Danish proposal. If build, it will also exceed the current tallest standing highrise building.

The tower is supposed to be the landmark, at the tip of a new large development area at the Århus harbour.

EDIT: The localplan (and the building) was approved by Århus city council on April 23, 2008.

Light*House
142 m
Floors 46 (as far as I can count)
Residential, Restaurant and Skybar
Approved (Design revealed on April 16, 2007)
Architects: 3 x Nielsen A/S and UN Studio

It's a bit larger than Malmø. About 300.000.

Oh wow, I never thought I'd see something like this proposed for little old Arhus!

Great tower though, wonderful design. The Danes certainly know how to make things look sleak and sexy!

Is there a good chance that this will be built?

Denmark was never really a fan of new highrises, but this will be a change.

weather change? you mean the climate? what does that have to do with the attitude towards highrise construction?

Building high to stay above the rising sea.

I see a typical UN studio cladding but it looks good.

Recently the investors said that the second stage (out of 3) would be initiated ultimo 2011. This is a ten storey building with approximately the same amount of apartments as in stage 1. The 42-storey highrise is in the third stage and awaits a hotel investor.

I will return with an update in autumn about the lighthouse-project.

Have a nice summer
