COPENHAGEN | The LM Project | 113m | 27 fl | 98m | 24 fl | Pro

www.marmormolen.dk

Thanks to Fab5 for allerting us all (and sending us into a frenzy) over at the N&B part of the forum by posting this project yesterday:

This exciting new proposal for Copenhagen was put forward just a day or so ago. It includes a skybridge spanning the water between two piers, a 140m + a 65m (or so) highrise + various low rise buildings of similar style. It'll include the HQ of the UN and its activities in Copenhagen if it's built (the green area on the second to last image).

You have to remember that this is only a masterplan.

Indeed. Was perhaps a bit far fetched when calling it a proposal as of yet, but as it's one of the most exciting new pieces of architecture we've seen in Denmark for... Well ages I reckon it deserves a mention none the less. And let's all cross our fingers that it'll come into fruition

Well that's definitely something I haven't seen before... a cable-stayed bridge between two buildings.

I think it would look better if the cables came out of the middle of the tower.

A little video about the proposal. Looks pretty cool with the Oslo-ferry just next to the tower.

My mother used to work for the UN when we lived in Copenhagen - God damn I wish she still did, and that this had been built already! Then I'd have visitied her at her office every day...!

Copenhagen = awesome.

Yeah, I hope this gets build. It's truly original. There is a positive vibe currently on large-scale construction projects in Copenhagen. Seems like a lot of more open-minded people have had enough of the NIMBY's.

This project could become even more interesing when one thinks about the other architects currently involved on the individual sites of this overall master plan project. David Chipperfield for instance has been asked to come up with a proposal for the tip of "Langelinie" - could be quite interesting to see how he adopts to this new master plan planning frame.

Really cool. But it would be even cooler with two 140 meter buildings.

Hopefully we'll see something similar if this plan will be realized. Although, with the NIMBYs up here...

A very "Copenhagen" design! Love it.

Yeah, imagine standing up there with one of the huge passenger ships passing underneath; what a view.

One of the parts behind the proposal, the Copenhagen Development Corporation, has already stated, that the final project will include the suspension bridge. It's not a part up for discussion (as one could perhaps think).
Moreover, think of an upper A-list firm like David Chipperfield (one of my personal faves), currently commissioned to come up with a proposal for one of these sites included in this new master plan, what couldn't it end up with?

Definitely very impressive and unique. Despite, it's only a masterplan and at least 50% of such plans won't be realized. Overall, I'm really liking this project, particularly because it would be a great landmark and a unique skyscraper project.

Let's hope it will get build.

Just in: The architectural competition for the bridge, the tower and the Langelinie "high-rise" will kick-off come this summer. The result will be revealed by the end of the year.
