Here we are, still in Agra - here's one of the entrances to the Agra fort.

Amritsar

A holy city of the Sikhs, literally meaning 'Lake of Divine Nectar", Amritsar is a collage of old and new that will make anyone's head spin (or maybe it was the heat). It is home to the Harmandir Sahib or Golden Temple, a site of Sikh pilgrimage.

Here are some snaps of the Golden Temple and its complex, some of the holiest buildings in Sikhism.

hahaha there are puddles outside my house that are less shallow than you.

Awesome job with the pictures though, we don't usually hear or see that much from India on this side of the pond. Definitely love hearing about China's economy tearing it up, but not many people realize that India's economy is growing at a pace that's just as fast. I'm feeling more pictures, brother. Bring them on.

Yeah, living in Toronto I don't hear too much about India, it isnt in the news much (except when I watch the BBC, they cover it a lot, lots of tourism adverts as well). While India's economy isn't growing at the same speed as China's, it is still around 9%/a, which is pretty damn good considering that it was hampered by quasisocialist policies for 50odd years...hopefully both countries will thrive, admire both culture sets very much
New pictures will be up ASAP

Qutb Complex, part 1

The largest and tallest brick minaret in the world, the Qutb Minar was inspired by the Minaret of Jam in Afghanistan. It was built by Qutb-ud-Din Aibak, who was the founder of the Ghulam (or Mamluk) Dynasty that ruled the Delhi Sultanate, the first Islamic rulers of the region. Sultan Qutb died when only the base was finished. Shams-ud-din Illtumish, his successor completed more of the monument and its complex and it was finally finished by Firuz Shah Tugluq, the cousin of Mohammad-ibn-Tugluq. The whole Qutb complex was built from reused stones from Jaina temples that previously occupied the site.

If the pictures were posted naturally then it would have been better, cause your photoshop or strange colourings ruins the atmosphere of the pictures
