Toronto Financial District - Early Spring Afternoon

Had my camera at work so went for a late afternoon walk around the financial district. Last 3 pictures taken from Panorama on Bloor.

Nice pics, great city. That's what we want here, more skyscraper pics and less "artistic shots of leafs"

Nice pictures - Toronto looks very imposing in those shots. Contrary to the user above I quite like artistic shots of cities and mid-rise buildings, but I do agree with him, it is nice to see some skyscrapers sometimes.

Looks very concrete jungle though!

This is an urban showcase, so there is room for all sorts of urban pictures.. including artistic pictures of leaves and skyscrapers both!

Nice pictures. Toronto's Financial District is probably my favorite central business district that I have been to.

yea, its a little weird...even when these pics were taken, most trees had some greenery on them..seems these ones are a little late (maybe because they get less sun because of the buildings)..im no botanist, but its a theory.

and..thanks for the comments people

Depends on what you are counting. Taller is right that Toronto is usually placed in the top 10 most important cities in the world, economically. If you are just ranking stock markets, Toronto (TSX) ranks higher.

These are the 2007 year end figures for stock market capitalization in millions of US dollars:

NYSE Group 15,650,832.5
Tokyo SE Group 4,330,921.9
Euronext 4,222,679.8
Nasdaq 4,013,650.3
London SE 3,851,705.9
Shanghai SE 3,694,348.0
Hong Kong Exchanges 2,654,416.1
TSX Group 1 2,186,550.2
Deutsche Brse 2,105,197.8
Bombay SE 1,819,100.5

8th ranked Toronto, has been passed by both the Chinese exchanges over the past 2 years, but still edges out Frankfurt (Deutsche Borse). Euronext is a combination of stock exchanges in a few cities like Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Nasdaq, like the NYSE, is a New York City based exchange. So, as you can see, Toronto is quite a substantial financial hub.

Great. Love the resting bronze cattle installations! Is that what you call a 'Bull Market'?
