Berlin 2008 | Schooltrip

Finally I went to Berlin. Last monday we left. At 8am the bus left to Berlin. It was a long trip. About 7pm we arrived. Offcorse we had a few stops. And one big stop. At the Grenzdenkmal, the wall between East and West. I didn't knew what to expect in Berlin. Not realy seen it on pictures. But I knew it was modern. But today I know that it's a beautiful city. Big, modern! Great. All those old buildings are beautiful. Beautiful streets, amazing subway system. I've made about 680 pictures of the city. A bit crazy. But about 60 pictures are from friends and about 80 pictures are good pictures of the city. So about 150 good pictures. The rest was blurry or just bad. I will show you 64 pictures with comment. Maby you see there's a lot of Fernsehturm on the pictures, but that's just because I loved the building and because you could see it everywhere!

Day 1: Monday

This was the bus, taken at the Grenzdenkmal;

The first 'hills' we saw;

The Grenzdenkmal. This part was the part between East and West;

The circus was also here;

East Germany was behind this fence;

From the left to the right: The wall, steel parts, minepart;

One of the many control towers;

This was the hotel where we stayed;

Nice streets;

We travelled alot with the U-Bahn. Perfect transportation;

Day 2: Tuesday

Brandenburger Tor;

Fernsehturm;

The Altes Museum. I didn't went there;

Big area for trains and the metro;

Part of the Berlin Wall with the Fernsehturm;

Somebody taking a photo with a beautiful background;

The u/c O2 World;

A commercial pole;

The Holocaust Monument. An amazing thing;

Potsdamer Platz;

Again the Holocaust Museum with the Fernsehturm;

Alll new buildings;

Three on a row;

The highest of the 3;

Instead of the Altes Museum I went to the Jüdisches Museum;

Not that nice but very interesting. There was a room with metal heads, if you walked on them you heared a horrible noice.;

Day 3: Wednesday

[b]27|Just on the corner at Checkpoint Charlie you had a ballon. You could stand on it and overview the city;[b]

Some old DDR cars, the Trabant;

A part of the Berlin Wall;

Checkpoint Charlie on the morning;

Again with the street behind it;

Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten;

To bad the curtain of the bus was on it;

After that we went to Kurfürstendamm, an amazing shopping street;

The Gedächtniskirche;

Nice and big square next to the church;

Again the church;

The KaDeWe (Kaufhof Des Westens). An amazing shoppingmall, very luxur;

There was a lot of graffiti. This was one of them;

One picture of the Reichstag. Since I'm not that good in taking night pictures;

Day 4: Thursday

The next day we went to the Stasi-Gefängenis Hohenshönhausen. A sort of prison wich was used by the Sovjets and the DDR;

A couple of garages outside;

And then to the Fernsehturm, finally;

A little bit closer;

We only had 2 hours of time. But we went in quick.;

And then we where at 203,78m, the panorama part;

I had alot of pictures from the view. But here are a view of them;

Beautiful streets;

The city is very big;

Again the ballon;

The Hauptbahnhof. A beautiful and modern building;

And Potsdamer Platz;

I also went to the worldclock on the Alexander Platz;

A beautiful church;

Unter dem Linden. This was the most amazing street. With the Brandenburger Tor at the end and all embassies.;

The Humboldt university;

The library. Not that green from the inside yet;

A piece of the Brandenburger Tor;

The Brandenburger Tor;

We walked to the Reichstag again;

Again the TV Tower;

The Hauptbahnhof;

Relaxing on a new river at the new station district;

And again the station of Berlin;

Day 5: Friday

No pictures of this day. We had to wake up at 6 and we left at 7:30am. A long trip, but it went very fast. I enjoyed this city and hope to go back to it once. I took enought pictures so I can see it every day I want to! Bye!

There are no Germans in these pics.

Thanks for the show chris! Touristic spots as always, but nice anyway. Seems like the focus of the excursion has been GDR times eh?

How old are you?
