It's amazing to me that junk like the Chinese consulate and the UPS building are able to exist with the sky high property values of a waterfront location. It seems a poor use of land. I bet they will be soon to hit the dust in the next wave. Surely condos will take their place. River views are not to be wasted.

The Chinese consulate won't be there for long. I'm sure the Chinese will choose another location to their demonstrate power. China Spire anyone?

Obviously, there is ugly brown brick trash that can be replaced or reclad . But is he suggesting recladding ESB, 30 Rock, Chrysler, etc just bc it is not glass? The beauty of NY is the variety of building styles and materials. Why not reclad all buildings on 7th Ave between 34th and 42nd while we are at it?
