that bland brown building in front of the Silver Towers looks out of place now. Hopefully it will be redeveloped or re-clad by the time the Hudson Yards is mostly finished.

^ Same with the Chinese Consulate. And the UPS building come to think of it.

at least UPS has some curvature to it facing the river and the Chinese Consulate has a more fitting modern look to it. Though the base is necessarily atrocious.

Are you one of those people who thinks that a building is ugly just because it's not glass? There is nothing wrong with that building. Leave it alone.

don't assume things. I would have no problem with that building if it were further north, say above 59th street, or even just east of Hell's Kitchen, where it would fit in as average. It's not like we're talking about a prewar tower. It's a pretty generic residential tower. The West side from 41st to 29th is going to mostly be tall, modern towers with mostly glass facades. That building will just be a sore thumb sitting in front, and it's just tall enough to stand out.

Today, all but the uncladded tippy-top obscured by a slab of MiMA mediocrity:

Glass building is modern architecture, so it's not abnormal to find 100 year old brown buildings as ugly structures. The brown brick buildings look rusty and sterile in my eye

This tower is the most boring piece of architecture I've seen in a very long time.
