Yes, and I hope that we will get the tunnel under Boka Kotorska Bay.

In that case, this should become part of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway. There is no sense in having two parallel 4-lane roads 20-30 km from each other.

The expressway along the coast was planned as 2-lane road. I don't know if that changed, but it's a rather difficult terrain for a 4-lane road, so I doubt that.

It's planned as 4 lane road:

Quote:
Geometrical cross-section

Cross-section of the fast traffic artery is defined in accordance with regulations for Vr = 80 km/h
- driving line gauge 2 x 3.25 m x 2 =14.0 m
- marginal strip gauge 2 x 0,35 = 0,70 m x 2 = 1.40 m
- shoulder gauge 1.50 m x 2 = 3.00 m
- verge gauge 2,50 m x 1 = 2,50
TOTALLY: 20.90 m

In case the Azeri offer is attractive, cooperation could be expanded with the bypass in another coastal city, Budva, the ministry said in a statement issued after a delegation comprising Azeri government officials and AzVirt representatives met with Montenegrin transport minister Andrija Lompar.

Hello to everyone!

I am planning to come to Montenegro in a couple of weeks by car. I am staying in Budva and the timeplan will get me there late at night, so I would like to save as much time as possible by taking the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry. http://goo.gl/maps/Ofbo6

Here comes the offtopic part, but you are the only people I believe that can help!

Of course I plan to stay in Kotor as well (very beautiful from what I hear), so the question is this: is the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry the only one, or is there another one for example at Denovici going to Tivat?

Thank you for your time!

No, there's just the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry. Another one wouldn't really make sense...

But if you want to stay in Kotor and see something, take the road around the bay. You will need about one to two hours from Herzeg Novi to Tivat through the bay, Kotor and tunel Vrmac. Depending on traffic and day.

If you are coming from Croatia beware of the roadworks from Dubrovnik airport to the border with Montenegro.

Driving around the bay should be a must rarely you will find such a landscape in Europe.

Yes, I'll be driving from Dubrovnik to Budva. Thanks for the tip, these roadworks are extensive? Is it a good idea to bypass them by turning left at Zvekovica? http://goo.gl/maps/uYEc7

Those works are pretty intense (i last drove there in May, took me almost 2hrs from the border to Cilipi), i never turned at Zvekovica, but i guess those are narrow local roads, so probably not an alternative.

Maybe this route could be an alternative, but the last kms in Croatia last year also were under severe reconstruction and i dont know if they are finished.

The local road from Zvekovica to Gruda is ok, not that small, but you are basically driving through one big village Anyway, I guess the alternative over Vitaljina would be the better choice.

Anyway, it depends on day an time. If you are an early bird, everything should be fine

Still no news from the motorway building front but some stats have come out for Sozina tunnel (L=4,189m), which opened in 2005 at a cost of ~72 million euros.

Since its opening, about 50 million euros has been collected in tolls - 7,5 million during 2011 alone. Fourteen million vehicles have used it since opening.
