i think there are some Egyptian and Art-Deco elements in Berjaya Times Square architectural style.. ek?.. hehe.. Art-Deco is actually came from Egyptian influences..

i can ride the monorail (if the service started in September) from my office to Berjaya Time Square.. that'll be 3 stops before Imbi-Maxis Station..

Nova's pic very small one.. cant see his face la..

Berjaya Times Square is dark at night as it is not litted up yet. I have a few pictures of Times Sq testing some lightings (very little lightings actually)....I'll post it later.....

BTW Nova is from Belgrade and he's currently living in Singapore (for many years already)......

yeah.....it does have some Art Deco influence in it. not just the facade but the dimension of the building, symmetrical values and the columns have Art Deco influences too. Yea....Art Deco flourishes in the 20s when the rage and craze was started by the discoveries of the ancient Egyptian Royal tombs (in particular Tuttenkhamen (sp?) - the boy king).........

Seed,

yup I was born in Belgrade, studied architecture (skyscraper design - my professors did a lot of work in Iraq, by the way) and moved to SG 11 years ago, when war in my place started - I had very little choice at that time...

... either go away, or become a cannon fodder for a bastard dictator (my constituency voted for opposition and he decided to draft them all into his "war" business project as to kill off young opposition - what a smart electorate management idea is it?!?)

BTW, the old Yugoslavia was the only country outside the Muslim world to have dinar as its currency for the whole of its existence, before World War II, for sometime Yugoslav GOLD DINAR (sounds familiar??) was one of the most stable European currencies!

You'll even be surprised that many common words are spelled exactly the same in Belgrade and Kuala Lumpur : RESTORAN, MUZIKA, EKSTRA, PROJEKT etc - exactly same spelling and pronunciation, believe it or not! We can pronouce Malay basically without any training - just got to pick up understanding it hehe

Now I'm what? Proud to be a Singaporean?!? Yup, I'm S'pore citizen for long. My involvement with skyscrapers, well that's confidential for now

Thousand of apologies everyone! Thanks to some meeting at the office yesterday evening, I was logged and prepared to upload the pictures and eventually I fell asleep!

Soooo.....I didn't get to post the pictures yesterday night and now I am in office. Hopefully today there are no 'surprises' after work today.....hehe
