Currently, the A1 (Autostrada A1 ) is a 127-kilometer motorway linking Bucharest, the capital of Romania, with Piteşti, a city in Argeş County. The A1 was the first freeway to be built in Romania, constructed in the 1960s during the Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej communist regime and upgraded in 2000.

The motorway is to be expanded to 620 km by 2014, connecting the capital city of Bucharest to the Banat region in western Romania and furthermore to central european motorway system.

As of 2008 only Bucharest-Pitesti section is operational:

The re-tendering of the remaining works on the first section of Sibiu Motorway bypass is coming to an end. The succesful bidder is JV Max Boegl - Geiger - Comtram and the contract should be awarded in the coming period.

The accepted contract amount is 48.816.180,35 Euro (witout VAT) and the works should be concluded in 18 months.

The current status of the works (as left by Todini in 2006) is presented below:

I've heard our transportation minister today saying that tender procedures for Cernavoda-Constanta section of A2 are under preparations. Also, he spoke of tender procedures for a special new road from Constanta to the Danube Delta. Dunno anything else about that.

Yes, they plan to build an expressroad CT-TL in order to encourage tourism in the Delta.

I don`t give a rat`s ass what these two dick-heads promise us right before the local/general elections. Orban is always full of crap and Tucan is absolutly Our local retard can`t speak coherently and he had a lot of BIG problems with the justice.

* big pbs = tentativa de omor, complicitate la furturi, vatamare corporala, fals in acte, fals in declaratii, lovire politisti . E de-a dreptul incredibil cum astfel de gainari INCA ocupa posturi cheie in Romania.

Compania Bechtel pregăteşte disponibilizări masive, au dezvăluit pentru clujeanul.ro surse din cadrul firmei. Astfel, conform acestora, muncitorii din campusul de la Săvădisla, care lucrează la autostrada Transilvania, au fost anunţaţi deja că se pot aştepta la o înştiinţare oficială sau chiar la un preaviz după salariul care va fi plătit în data de 10 mai.

„Ni s-a spus că vor fi daţi afară majoritatea muncitorilor români, vreo 2.500 de persoane chiar. Vor fi concediaţi în special români, deşi turcii angajaţi de Bechtel au în continuare salarii duble faţă de noi”, a declarat un muncitor pentru clujeanul.ro, sub protecţia anonimatului.

„Bechtel a evocat această situaţie în discuţia cu sindicatele”, recunoaşte şeful Cartel Alfa Cluj, Grigore Pop. Acesta a declarat că este posibil să se ajungă la disponibilizări, dacă Guvernul nu asigură atât finanţarea, cât şi terenurile de care compania are nevoie pentru a lucra.

Grigore Pop spune însă că nu se pune problema unor preavizuri în data de 10 mai. „Conform legii, Bechtel trebuie să anunţe în scris disponibilizările colective cu 30 de zile înainte. Urmează apoi un preaviz de încă 20 de zile şi, desigur, se asigură între 1 şi 3 salarii compensatorii, în funcţie de vechimea în firmă. Deocamdată, oficial, nu s-a făcut anunţul”, explică Pop.


Vor bloca E60 în Feleacu şi Gilău

Dacă se ajunge la disponibilizări din vina Guvernului, sindicatele sunt decise să iasă să în stradă. „Dacă Bechtel concediază nejustificat, avem ac şi de cojocul lor. Dacă însă Guvernul e de vină pentru că subfinanţează lucrarea, vom bloca drumuri naţionale cu utilaje grele, care să nu poată fi îndepărtate. Astfel de acţiuni ar putea avea loc la ieşirile din Cluj-Napoca spre Turda şi Oradea", a precizat Grigore Pop.

Purtătorul de cuvânt al companiei Bechtel, Bogdan Sgârcitu, nu a putut fi contactat pentru a preciza când se va trece la disponibilizări. Vom reveni cu poziţia Bechtel atunci când compania va dori să îşi precizeze punctul de vedere.

Didn't know in which thread exactly to post this one ... but thought that this thread is the most approproate. A couple of interesting clips posted by Nilix in the bulgarian forum. I think they are worth seeing as the Danube bridge II is a very important project for Bulgaria , and for Romania too i suppose.

for this Turnovec. The presentation is very professional. I wish many other project of this significance had such presentations.

The bridge is very important for Romania as well. The more infrastructure in between Romania and Bulgaria, the more trade for the 2 countries. Plus, a better link in betweeen the Balkans and the rest of Europe. And, more connection means more European integration for both countries.

FCC/Astaldi va construi centura-autostradă a Constanţei


De la demararea licitaţiei, anul trecut, până la începerea lucrărilor se vor scurge cel puţin doi ani. Terminarea autostrăzii, care va costa cel puţin 121 de milioane de euro, va avea loc în 2012.

Licitaţie începută în 2007, constructor ales în 2008, lucrări demarate în 2009 şi terminate, în cel mai bun caz, în 2012, cam acesta este graficul Companiei Naţionale de Autostrăzi şi Drumuri Naţionale din România (CNADNR) pentru realizarea a 22 de kilometri de autostradă în jurul Constanţei. Compania a primit miercuri şapte oferte pentru construirea şi proiectarea autostrăzii, cea mai convenabilă fiind cea depusă de asocierea ibero-italiană FCC/Astaldi. Aceasta a avut cea mai avantajoasă ofertă financiară dintre cei şapte participanţi. FCC/Astaldi a cerut 437 de milioane de lei pentru lucrări (121 milioane de euro), iar Mota Engil/Monte Adriano/Soares da Costa a avut cea mai dezavantajoasă ofertă, solicitând 952 de milioane de lei. Alte oferte au venit din partea firmelor sau asocierilor Impregilo/Itinera, Salini Constructtori, J&P Avax, Colas şi Aktor. Autostrada va porni de la nodul rutier cu DN 2A, în vecinătatea oraşului Ovidiu, şi se va sfârşi la poarta 9 a Portului Constanţa. Proiectul prevede realizarea a cinci noduri rutiere şi a 21 de lucrări de artă.

Semnarea contractului cu FCC/Astaldi va avea loc probabil de abia în iunie, urmând ca, după aceea, asocierea să realizeze proiectul tehnic. Dacă exproprierile şi mutările de utilităţi vor decurge bine, lucrările vor începe în primăvara anului viitor şi vor dura trei ani. Doi ani este perioada de garanţie pentru lucrare. Finanţarea lucrărilor este mixtă, respectiv dintr-un credit al Băncii Europene de Reconstrucţie şi Dezvoltare (BERD) şi din surse bugetare. Deşi partea română plăteşte dobândă pentru împrumutul dat de BERD, fiecare pas al licitaţiei trebuie aprobat de către bancă, iar acceptul acesteia este primit deseori după luni întregi. Aceasta este una dintre explicaţiile întârzierilor majore înregistrate de proiect.

Here's the Bulgarian planned Motorways by 2020. They have 4 border points with Romania covered by motorways. AFAIK, only 2 are currently planned by the Governement: Giurgiu and maybe the Black Sea connection. Are there any plans for the other 2?



OH, yeah, I remember now: there are plans for this, but only after 2015:

C'mon, Bucharest - Giurgiu is far for being a motorway. There are lot's of roundabouts even intersections not to mention that aren't any exitways.
Is just a good expressway and that's it. And I doubt it can be ever turned into a motorway.
