I made a calculation some days before:
How is shorter to get Budapest from Bucharest. And my result is: Budapest from Bucharest on A3 is 40km more than on A1. And the M3 highway in Hungary will not build like highway even to the border, so on A3-M3 you couldn't take your total way with 130km/h. But on A1-M43-M5 you have to drive 40km less and you can drive with 130km/h. I think, the main highway-streaming is coming from Bucharest, isn't is? |

Cel mai bun drum pentru tine e, de departe,M0-(nu intri in Budapesta) M3-pana la capat (est de Nyiregyhaza)-41-49 Mateszalka-Petea-Satu Mare-Sighet-Borsa-Iacobeni-Humor-Cornu Luncii-Spataresti-Motca-Iasi... e bun, e mai scurt, e liber si eviti aglomeratia de dincolo si drumul spart Reghin-Toplita...Eu si toti din Iasi pe care-i stiu numai pe-aici mergem spre vest.

I have a question about the designations of Romanian motorways...
-Bucharest-Nadlac is A1 -Bucharest - Constanta is A2 -Bucharest - Bors is A3 (aka Transylvania motorway) -Tg. Mures - Ungheni is A4 (aka East-West motorway) -Ploiesti - Albita is A5 (aka Moldova motorway) Well... what about all the other envisioned motorways that are on the official map (see Legea 363/2006)? Will the Bucharest beltway be A0 (like Budapest's is M0)? What about the rest... Tecuci - Siret, Bucharest - Girugiu and all the rest? Anyway, you get the question. ![]() P.S.: if you send me over to CNADNR's site I'm comin' after you!

With the exception of the names
[Bucharest - Pitesti north = A1] [Bucharest - Constanta west = A2], nothing is official. Not even A3 for Bucharest - Brasov or Arad - Timisoara / Sibiu bypass being part of A1. Hell, some countries have been living without motorway numbers (and a sizeable network) for many years (e.g. Greece). However, I feel that an official numbering scheme (incl. exit numbers) may be coming up next year

I suggest CNADNR to name them something like A23 or A371, just to give the impression of an extended motorway network.

As for A0, I doubt if they would do that. A10 would make more sense, since A0 could also be mistaken for AO. With M0 (Budapest) or R0 (Brussels), that works, but not for A-numbers I think. I haven't seen an "A0" anywhere yet. I kinda like "CB" (Centura București), but I do think every country needs a comprehensive road numbering system, with motorways clearly having a distinctive number. I don't really like the development of expressways for a nationwide grid, as happened in Europe since the 1990's. Countries like Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, etc are now developing nationwide expressways which barely differ from motorways. I think expressways should be no more than feeders to the motorway system, or urban grade-separated roads, more or less like in Germany.

Faptul ca centura Timisorii nu e nici macar 2x2 e o mare bataie de joc fata de generatiile urmatoare, care vor trebui sa o largeasca, dar mai ales pentru vietile omenesti pierdute prin zgarcenia prosteasca si lipsa de bunavointa de a mai adauga 1m de asfalt pe lateral + bariera mediana.
In Italia e in constructie o 'tangenziale' (centura) la profil de autostrada, cu numeroase poduri si zone suprainaltate, pentru Alessandria - un oras cu 90 000 de locuitori, mai mic decat Aradul. Si asta pe langa cele 2 autostrazi principale de tranzit care se intersecteaza langa oras. |

Vad ca ne-am apucat de ceva timp sa facem sosele 1,5 + 1,5. Inca n-am inteles exact daca e vorba de 1+1 cu benzi de urgenta care-s folosite abuziv de soferi ca benzi normale, ori chiar asta e ideea, sa fie o banda si jumatate pe sens.
In primul caz ar fi bine sa se apuce de dat amenzi; in al doilea caz sunt niste cretini si se joaca cu vietile oamenilor.
