update on Chennai Bye Pass(Maduravoyil to Madhavaram)
Update on Chennai Bye Pass(Maduravoyil to Madhavaram)
Hi All, Today I had a drive in the newly constructed route in Chennai Bye pass from Madhavaram to Madhuravoyil. Almost 99% of work is over. It’s not opened officially. Hope they will open it in less than a month time. The road is awesome to drive. I covered the stretch from Madhavaram trumpet interchange (NH5) to Madhurovoyil bridge in approx 12 minutes in my Pulsar. I think there is a TOLL coming in this stretch as I saw some construction activities going on in this stretch (But I am not exactly sure about this). Once they open this stretch it will be a dream come true for people of North Chennai as they can reach Tambaram in approx 30 minutes. I am desperately waiting for this stretch to be opened for public. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Nirmal |

![]() It will be really useful for commuters only if the MTC introduce express bus from Tambaram railway station to Madhavaram or North Chennai via bye-pass road. I guess as of now there is no public transportation on bye-pass corridor!!

Plan to widen roads in fringe areas of city
http://www.thehindu.com/news/states/...icle995895.ece
![]() The Highways Department has formulated a set of proposals at an estimated cost of Rs.3,171 crore for strengthening and widening various roads in fringe areas of the city to handle the increase in traffic. It has submitted the proposals to the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). The Highways' proposals account for a chunk of the development works to be carried out by various agencies in the fringe areas in the next three years. The CMDA will consolidate the proposals from all agencies and submit them to the government shortly. The focus of the proposals will be on improving and enhancing infrastructure such as roads, bridges and drainage. The areas under local bodies that are likely to be part of the expanded Chennai Corporation stand to benefit from the implementation. Road projects in fringe areas of the city belonging to Kancheepuram district are estimated to cost Rs.2,251 crore. The proposals relating to the roads in Tiruvallur are expected to cost of Rs.920 crore. Some of the important roads included in the proposal for widening are Mount Poonamallee Road, Kodambakkam-Sriperumbudur Road, Vanagaram-Ambattur-Puzhal Road, Thandalam-Perumbakkam-Arugilpadi Road, GNT Road, Tiruvottiyur-Ponneri-Panchetti Road, Medavakkam-Mambakkam-Chembakkam Road, Sadras-Tiruthani Road, Kancheepuram Bypass, Vandalur- Mambakkam- Kelambakkam Road, GST Road-Nalambakkam- Kattur Road, Korattur- Periyapalayam Road and Thirukazhukunram-Kalpakkam Road. |

![]() I am from Kalpakkam..... What ever told above is abs right. Sadras refers to Sadhurangapattinam (just located outside Kalpakkam). I didnt understand one thing. They have told Sadras-THiruthani as well as Kalpakkam-Thirukazhukundram. But actually Kalpakkam-Thirukazhukundram is a part of Sadras-THiruthani. So is that as usual an eye wash? |

A Happy New Year. We wish IRR would be completed in the next couple of months and provide hassel free transport from Velachery to OTA. Folks any update on Adambakkam Bridge construction. I presume the finishing work will be in the final stages. Next to Pallavaram ROB this should be a major bypass and connection
