doubt it - terracing much higher than that pic anyway

I think they will finish it and roof asap

I would have thought it would be very difficult from an access point of view to get a crane in pitch side. I would have thought a hole in the roof would have been the best option.

Now you mention it I can't remember one of the big cranes coming pitch side.
We'll probably know the answer by the end of the day.

What happened to the Megastore pics, "coming soon"?

edit. Thinking about it Arena will probably have a "mini crane" to get the seats/brackets up there.

They'll probably have to man handle everything through the vomitories I suppose When they replaced the seats in what was the John Ireland stand (renamed the Steve Bull stand) from red to yellow there was no way to get a crane in so they must have done the same then. The old red seats were recycled around various grounds including Gornal Athletic!

They could still get on and put the roof panels in place so the upper terracing is more weatherproof, but leave that small section of the roof open temporarily to lift in the rails, seats and any other bits they still have to get up there.
Mind you theres also the big screen to go in, that will be interesting hmmm............

Looks like they are doing the roof purlins in the gap before they put the terracing in! That's surprised me It's gonna be interesting watching them put the last terracing in now with the limited space!

I've been thinking about the delay with the roof not being ready until February. Perhaps they had the 'roofers' booked for a certain date and the builders didn't meet the schedule by a few weeks. This might have meant that the next time slot the roofers had free caused an even bigger delay than was envisaged. Just speculating of course!

This is very likely what happened. Their start date kept getting put back so finally they said give us a date you CAN meet. Don't think they'd want to start until the steel was completely finished as they could be stuck on site if there was another delay with the steel.

Regarding getting all the rails and seats onto the upper tier they might use a crane of some description or even one of those they are using now! I say this because they have still got to get the roof supports down somehow and I pressume it will have to be from the front of the stand so a crane will have to get access to there anyway.
Anybody worked out how they are going to remove those supports yet because I haven't got a clue how they are going to do it!

From last week.

When the rods have taken the strain, only then will the support beams be removed.

And hopefully nothing creaks, groans and gives way!!
Aldaniti is usually spot on.
Basically a very delicate operation.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone follow Jez on twitter? He's actually not that bad. Spends a lot of time taking the piss out of other clubs/players etc. Yesterday he was talking up the value of Fletcher.

I meant how are they physically going to get them down? I can't picture the procedure of doing so.

I don't know. Each support is made up of 3 sections. The top section is quite small so easier to remove. Then there'd be about 1-2 foot clearence to get the other bits out. I have a feeling it could wait to the close season. Shame, I was hoping the upper tier might be open for the end of this season. Doesn't look like it will now.

Don't forget the lower tier seats need to be changed in colour and that will have to be done from the pitch side so they might do the upper tier in the same way

I'm thinking they might use a crane with a claw on the end to hold each section of the roof support as they dismantle it (like the one they used when they were demolishing the stand) which is on the gallery on the molineuxpride site.

Britwolfuk asked me if I could upload an image for him, as he cannot from his workplace. So here it is;

It's a slightly modified image from the webcam from earlier, after it had rained, so a lot of detail can be seen!
