Just driven by, couldn't stop for photos, but; they're just putting the orange cladding up in that gap at the back of the 'S' block, and they've begun cladding the entrance pod thing, with what look like large black tiles. Site's still a sh*t heap.

I've been away for a week and IMHO The new SC stand is getting to look totally disjointed and astethically displeasing to the eye. Just like the shirt above .
Sorry Gouldy but no matter how much you dress it up and you talk the talk, seems to me you look at it like the tale of the emperors new clothes. In fact it would look better now totally stripped naked of it's seating. The mess they're making of it

I've had to go back a few weeks to find a comment where I was talking the stand up, and it's not as if I was the only one being positive on that page... http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...18674&page=312 Not really sure where I've tried to "dress it up"? And what do you mean by "talk the talk"? All I can do is lend my opinion and it seems that our opinions differ, that is all. There are both negative and positive things that can objectively be said about the stand, however, the one thing you can't account for is the much more subjective area of opinions on aesthetics - you think that on a whole the stand looks ugly, whereas I don't think that on a whole the stand looks ugly, that's all there is to it. |

I watch it as yourself from the beginning nearly everyday / week on the webcam for over a year. Enjoying the look of the stand greatly being built until now. It's only really with this new seating arrangement that makes it looks like I say unbalanced and lop sided / disjointed. Not pleasing to the eye. Talk the talk means, you seem to be backing the clubs every BAD decision. As if they can't put a foot wrong?? Someone said why didn't they not put those recent steps where the segregation area will eventually be. More towards the corner SB stand. That would have been a better option and decision, yes and helped with that restricted viewing area too. It's as if these decision now with the seating are just being made on the spare of the moment and not much thought at all put into them

I apologise, but I felt:

The club have made bad decisions and I have seen and stated that, for example; the manager saga this season was ridiculous. What I have seen though is the reactionary nature of many fans and mob mentality culminating in what could only be described as abuse of people at the club who, in truth, don't deserve it - which I have therefore tried to defend. I personally have tried to remain positive through this because I don't see the point of moaning and groaning myself into an early grave and I'm generally a positive person. It seems from some of the comments I've had (especially on E&S Facebook), that trying to remain positive when something bad happens is the biggest crime ever. I am sorry if my general positivity offends anyone, but in truth, I really don't care if it does. Regardless of any of that; I have been constantly critical of the stand itself, as there are many things I would have done differently (things like the orange cladding and the design of the seats) - however, on a whole, for me the stand is very good despite the things I personally dislike about it. Slightly closer to topic: Thank you Messi for some photos! I was starting to get some withdrawal symptoms!

Cheers for the photos Messi. The outside of the stand is definitely growing on me. The more tat that comes off the fascia and the more parts get completed the better it looks. The eye doesn't get drawn to the roof as much.
Seeing that left hand side so unfinished does annoy me though. The Stan Cullis not joined to the Steve Bull is like Fish without Chips, Ant without Dec, TC without a Clipboard... |

"Thanks Messi." for the pic's...each days development brings closure to this stage.
i must say the whole building is a beautiful/wonderful improvement to the old S.C. Whether unappreciated or loved i for one feel mighty proud to be part of the whole development. Thank you Mr Morgan....sorry Steve. |

Highlights how terrible the Steve Bull stand is :S even simple things like the side cladding not being transparent.
This is looking great, I love the huge window on this side, and the cladding is growing on me (on this side). Getting visions of Jurassic Park with all the cherry pickers though... (I'm sure there's some kind of metaphor about dinosaurs eating the club from the top there somewhere)

![]() Couldn't agree more. It's obviously not going to happen this summer, we can write that off, but I'm really hoping they change their minds and start it next summer, I really do! We can't just leave it like that in that corner, like DBadger says, it's making the Steve Bull stand look even worse than it did! |

Any ideas why that unsightly netting is still hanging there?

Hi all, been watching this thread with interest for months and you guys pics put the official ones to shame - well done. Also I would be encouraged that the Steve Bull will be done in the not too distant future - why else would they go to the trouble of putting the fixed segregation in place now if they were going to keep aways in the SB lower and not rebuild it! I think people have been a little harsh on this construction - any stadium build using actual bricks rather than cladding is welcome - however I do agree that the inside edge of the "gold" cladding looks pony, it needs something on the inside that is better inkeeping with the white frame work. Well done Wolfies for pressing on with stadium reconstruction in a/ shit time economically b/ shit time footballing wise.

Has it not occurred to anyone that the segregation will be moved when the Steve bull is built? The plans were to put the away fans in the corner, which they have done, but only half a corner presently. Once the second half of the corner is finished with the Steve Bull, surely that would be the away section?
Thus the fact they are putting in the segregation says to my mind that the Steve Bull is far from certain next season. Having said that, we've seen how easy it is to reconfigure the seating so it probably doesn't matter. The thing about the segregation having to run down the middle of a block is nonsense, they just have to put up a temporary partition wall inside the concourse to block off the corridoor from the left hand side of the exit which can then be re/moved later. |

oh and Gouldy - think of the roof as you would a bridge, the load of a cantilever bridge and a suspension bridge are still borne by the piers, however the manner in which they are supported is different. Same applies here, although minus so much lateral tension..

Well yes this segregation is a compromise until Steve Bull is done, but would have to be done anyway, Steve Bull won't be built overnight.
