indeed malec, "one Dubai" is not really a cool name of a 850m tall tower

Those designs are incredible! Is this really approved and building work going ahead? If so when will it start?

The new name sure is crap -_- but what the hey , the height and size should make up for its lack of a creative name.

They're going to demolish half of Dubai to construct this masterplan between SZR & Sea! Not really nice for the people that live there atm, and thats (one of the many reasons) why we don't see things like this happen in Western countries, but it will definately be a big improvement for this area! Together with the Nakheel project this will be one of the most interesting to follow! Lets see how far they are in 10 years...

Yeah, true, but for the (very poor) people living there should be a proper new home available against no cost, in the Netherlands all this procedure things would already take 10 years before constructing could begin, haha! But I don't think it works like this in Dubai... But that's not for here to discuss, I'm glad they're building this kind of supertalls, incredible!

the compensation were peanuts considering their house location. They should've given double what they were given !

Great idea to choose an artificial river as the main axis of Jumeira Gardens instead of a road. I wonder if the real estate market will support all these projects shown here.

The name "One Dubai" suggests the aim to be the city's best address, but doesn't really fit for a triple tower, I think. But what a building! The height has been increased to the size of a recent world's tallest (though the Nakheel Harbour Tower should be finished earlier). Even for the smaller "fingers" I guess a height of around 680m and 540m. It's almost like three connected Burj Dubais!
