Unless both projects have been put under the same development plans, it would be the later.

amazing design, but i dont like the cable-stays. And on one render, it showed cables above and below the bridges. my question is: why would you need cable support under the bridge? the cables look cool on the render, but in reality i think it would look bad.

If EP 07 Tower is built, it would be the world's most intimate-looking skyscraper.

They're using suspension bridge technology on a skyscraper. I think that's awsome!!

I have it on good authority (and I have a 100% track record of breaking news on projects in Dubai), that the affection plan was issued for this site and that the pilling is underway. If someone can get pictures, the area is behind the park in Badda and has Swiss boring rigs on site. It is in the area where the first villas were demolished in Satwa.
Technically speaking its U/C.

I think I'm going to split up the thread between AC Tower and the EP Towers.

I find it hard to believe it's at that site (the empty area above the emirates towers spire).
Aren't there airport restrictions just down the road that limit building heights to 200m? Surely it can't rise from 200m to 600 or 800m.

Maybe this is the site?

Just so people know. The project that this is part of is located here.

It pretty much involves the complete flattening of an area called satwa and driving thousands of people out of their homes

Parts are under developed yes but there are parts that are pretty dense and have great character. They should have preserved these and built infill to develop the rest.

Actually a friend has told me from weeks that in the area they have dug very deep but we thought they were just digging the canals.

If you look close you will see that all the cables go from bottom to the top. I don't think it's like a suspension bridge, it's more a very clever way to stiffen the whole structure...

This has to be one of the most exciting projects I have ever seen, Dubai's just crazy!
I think I'll wait a few years before going to Dubai, just till this one is finished. Really amazing.

The tallest tower at 700-750 m would be perfect.
